Israel has “seized” territory in Syrian-controlled areas of the Golan Heights, as its military warned Syrians living in five villages close to the Israeli-occupied portion of the strategic area to “stay home”.
Sad to say that I called Israel seizing land from Syria next a while back. I just didn’t expect it so soon.
I’m guessing they were involved with toppling Assad, though I haven’t seen anything to support that.
They did the same shit back in the 90s. I remember constant fucking fighting and murdering until Syria finally caved in and was like “ok fuck it” and just allowed them to settle there. Not sure why they did, I was a kid and didn’t understand the news anyway, but I remember “conflict in the Golan Heights” being in every second broadcast.
They’re claiming they helped by attacking Hezbollah. And iirc, still bombing places in Syria now.
Wow, I’m just so surprised that Israel of all countries would engage in naked imperialism. After committing genocide in Gaza with carte blanche given to them by the US, I can’t believe that they would think to opportunistically use a revolution to annex more of their neighbor’s territory under some ridiculous, flimsy pretext. And to think, here I thought maybe Zionism wasn’t an inherently colonialist ideology.
This became inevitable back in like 2012, once you could read that people like Dick Cheney and Rupert Murdoch had money in Genie Energy… And Genie Energy as going to exploit the oil rich resources in the area.
Make no mistake, this land grab was funded by Western Billionaires. Colonialism never ended, Capitalism just found a better way to white wash it.
The enlightenment was never completed, our serfdom just became slightly more hidden.
