And they should be forced to document / open their file formats. They’re way too big already and one of the shittiest anti-consumer companies out there.

Adobe is a company I refuse to pay my money to. I will always pirate their software no matter what.

Nah don’t even pirate it. There are really good alternatives for anything but After Effects

I’m using Photoshop since v5. I can’t even make a screenshot without it these days.

Haha well that’s a bit sad. You might wanna give Affinity Photo a shot. The interface is miles ahead of photoshop but functionality is not quite there yet

Adobe can’t even make a good competitor, with Xd they’re still years behind. After they by Figma they can get back to being lazy and do almost no upgrades. I was happy that Adobe was struggling, we finally got to see what happens if they need to catch up or listen to the users.

Well, we saw what happens when they need to catch up: they buy up their competitor.

Just for looks. They will end up approving it just like with the Activision buy out.

What’s the outcome likely to be? Is this sale/merger really going to get stopped? It’s certainly anti-competitive bs

I’m so confused, I thought Salesforce bought them, but I guess I’m confusing shitty companies. Anyway yeah I also thought the deal went through already, HN was really depressed for a day.

I’m using Lunacy by Icons8 atm. Penpot doesn’t have a desktop app yet, and I’m not comfortable with being constantly dependent on the internet.

Lunacy has offline support, with local .Sketch file support. So I’m down.

      Edit:

Also also, they allow Figma imports.

YES. They import your Figma projects… There’s just one catch - They import the objects as SVGs, so you’ll have to edit the SVG to get access to the individual elements. But it shouldn’t be too hard.

Plus, the app is a native Windows app, so it’s insanely snappy!
