Jeez, come on you guys, show some respect.
A bee just died.
Seriously. We really can't afford to lose more bees.
An obedient drone serving the monarchy? Cry me a river!
In bee and ant societies, all decisions are made by adult workers through chemical voting. (Queens, larvae and drones don't get a vote, though.)
TIL that. Thanks. Now reading up on eusociality in hymenopterans.
Ah this is terrible.
The bee population is already struggling, and there's no way this one survived after getting stuck in dude's throat.
Actually bees always die after stinging anything.
Edit: I get it people, I'm totally wrong about this - 3 people have already told me.
I thought some bees didn't have the barb? Certainly honey bees do, but there are many types.
That's somewhat incorrect. Their stingers have barbs that get stuck in skin and the like and pull out their organs when they try to extract, but that was because it evolved to pierce carapace, not skin. They can sting other insects without dying.
Also, as someone else pointed out, some bees, like bumblebees and carpenter bees, have smooth stingers that do not get stuck in skin.
Yellowjackets can sting the fuck out of you multiple times, too. I got stung by two of them last summer and then they somehow got inside my t-shirt and stung me a bunch more times before I made it inside and flung my shirt off. After waiting half an hour for the pain to subside, I picked up my t-shirt to put it back on and the two yellowjackets fell out of it, still alive. Fortunately they were as surprised as I was and I was able to stomp them before they stung me again.
Yellow jackets are wasps, not bees.
Where did I say yellowjackets were bees?
The conversation is literally around bees and how many times they can sting you before they die, and you bring up yellow jackets. If you knew they weren’t bees why did you bring them up?
thats not true. they die when they lose their stinger, which does not happen with every sting. stingers easily get stuck in human skin though which causes them to lose their stinger so easily.
And in this particular case, the soft lining of the esophagus wouldn't necessarily get the stinger stuck.
One of the my childhood friend's dad swallowed a bee once. He nearly died, and frequently said it was the worst summer of his life.

Good bee.
bruh the amount of sht they want you to accept to read is wild, the reddit post is controversial, prob did happen unlike they're saying and back then they wouldve assumed the public would side with the man
Her sister kareena kapoor naming her kids off mass genociders of the past is kinda wild lol, one is known in the sikh religion for torturing a guru
https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2021/aug/14/bollywoods-kareena-kapoor-subject-to-online-abuse-over-babys-name
they may be still used as common names tho for all I know and its just india getting mad over culture wars lol but ppl stopped using adolf for a reason
That whole issue sounds incredibly stupid from the outside. Would there be the same outrage if someone named their kid Ghengis? He killed even more people. Or Vlad, as in Vlad the Impaler? Or Joseph as in Joseph Stalin? Looking at this with an outside perspective, it truly sounds as the whole thing is fabricated because people just hate the marriage between a Hindu and a Muslim.

They just keep doing it and its not that long ago, also the way celebs are already treated like royalty in india its sus af to name your kids godking emperor above all
What
The article had a ton of weird conditions and didn't work well on mobile, looked it up and it had one reddit post about it with a bunch of comments which is what my comments go off.

I totally ship this one. My suggestion of Bee-igi sucks in comparison.
Luibee?
Is it possible to train bees? Asking for a friend who is very interested in bee training.
No, but maybe we could encourage the Orcas.

Or, hear me out. Genetically modified bonsai orcas.
I'm assuming the biohacking community can get on that.
nah ive seen a video of an asian guy swallowing a hornet. he was fine but his mouth was so inflated he could barely speak properly
They already like to have fun by attacking sailboats. Orcas are comrades!
I’ve heard that the smell of a banana makes bees go crazy and they go into attack mode. You didn't hear that me…🐝
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isoamyl_acetate#Natural_occurance
Fascinating! TIL
"Isoamyl acetate is released by a honey bee's sting apparatus where it serves as a pheromone beacon to attract other bees and provoke them to sting.[8]"
That's crazy!
wee, nice. Throw a banana at a beehive, kill a billionaire
If only it were so easy.
Reminds me
"- I can't believe he's dead.
- Were it so easy..."
Bee the change you want to see.
Too soon, honey. A has-been has been murdered here. Shut your mouth or buzz off 🐝
RIP bee. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
It's too soon for distasteful comments like this.
There's no evidence the bee died. Many species can sting more than once. Hopefully the bee can go on to sting many more allergic billionaires.
According to the article she was swallowed. Not likely to come back from that.
Someone hasn't heard of the frog and the beetle.

"I'd be very fucking chalant if a beetle just crawled out my ass" 🤣
ngl
He had me going in the first half
You had me for a sec!
RIP to that poor bee :(
That bee was too good for this world
She died a hero.
Could have been a male bee too
Drones don't have stingers. Queens and workers have stingers. Queens are from worker larva that are fed royal jelly that transforms them into a queen that is capable of reproduction. Workers are technically female but they're closer to asexual.
So, that badass enby ace bee gave that motherfucker what for.
You are right if it's a honey bee. There are many other species of bees that do have males with stingers. For example many solitary bees (live alone rather than in a hive) have stingers though aren't known to sting people unless swallowed like in the OP.
The British isles have over 200 species of solitary bees so it's very possible the bee hero in question here was a male :)
Didn't even think it about it not being a honey a bee. You're right.
Poor bee didn't deserve that...
Death by inhaling bee is the funniest death note entry yet.
Pouring one out for comrade bee's noble sacrifice 😞
I feel bad for the bee.
But holy shit! If this doesn't make you want to save the bees than nothing will.
I dub this bee the Buzz Bomber!
I notice your Sonic reference
I was unaware that it is a sonic reference. I was actually referring to the German V-1 rocket that was nicknamed the Buzz Bomb by the allies.
Edit:

Shit! Wow, mother of all coincidences!
Not all heroes wear capes.
Some have wings & stingers.
.
No clue who the dude was, I just hate on billionaires in general.
Samesies. And I stand with you, friend.
What a tragic loss. For the bee community.
What do we call the bee? Luigi 2?

Mad props to Comrade Bee, she gave her life for the people. She will live on in our memories, deepest sympathy and condolences to her hive for their loss.
Long live the Queen
My condolences to that bee's hive for their loss.
Oh. Anyway.
Great news.
The only good billionaire, is a dead billionaire.
#BeesLivesMatter
Always remember this day. The day when one, small bee gave his life for the cause.
Is the bee alright?
If so, we have another job for it
More, like a permanent position 👍
Mission Impossible 9: we don't even know anymore, just BEElieve it.
Like most folks here, my only concern is for the bee.
That bee gave up a life of pollenating plants that would green the earth and provide food for us undeserving humans.
That bee is a true heroine! I dub her the Buzz Bomber!
👍
She fights for her people, not ours, but I salute her
I wanna bee a billionaire, so fucking bad
You've just given new meaning to the Bruno Mars song
Beelionaire
We should circulate a copypasta that's like "nature's fighting back!" what with the orcas and the bees and the submarines so that the billionaires will fear going out even more
... becoming even more detached from reality? There really is no good solution, is there? Well, apart from the one.
Physics says no
Think I missed something - what's the thing with orcas and billionaires?
Orcas began attacking [all] yachts as if they were sentient because their friends got struck by propellers.
Scientists said that orcas are not conscious enough to connect the two things, and that it's just an example of "pod play".
Obviously, anyone with half a brain can tell you animals can feel things and hold a grudge, but it's not scientifically rigorous
Whales are actually pretty smart. I think they are probably wiser than the scientists.
Biologists know many animals are smart, don't let the elitest "humans are super special!" religious morons taint the well further.
Why would they not be able to link these things? My cats can and they're dumb as hell.
It's theory of mind and consciousness level stuff. I don't really know; I read about it ages ago and that was the conclusion, it was "pod behavior" and not vengeance or something higher-level.
Basically, the bar for a behavior/explanation has to be very high in science.
That sounds like it's not vengeance unless it comes from the vengeance centre of the brain, it's just sparkling preemptive violent self defence.
Nature is healing.
Is the bee ok?
Poor bee 😔
Finally, some good news.
I think I would prefer the submarine to this.
Based on the simulations I've seen, yeah. I'm sure there were plenty of panic in the sub and during the anaphylaxis, but I believe once the sub failed, there was less than a second between in first physical sensation to the complete disorganization of the nervous system, rendering the sub death quite painless. With anaphlaxis, even a sudden, sever attack, there will be several minutes of (at least) muscle strain as your diaphragm desperately tries to pull in more oxygen, and also general pain as your tissues squeeze against one another as they expand and nerve cells die.
I can and have accepted death; I'm too old to believe radical life extension will save me. But, many deaths are incredibly painful. If I have a choice on how to go out, inert gas asphyxiation seems best, but some sort of rapid disorganization isn't too bad. Anaphylactic shock seems worse.
I read it happened over one millisecond. Not enough for the nervous system to even register something was happening.
The final crush, yes, but they were having troubles on the descent. They dropped weights and were attempting an emergency ascent, but the sub wasn't raising as fast as it should've. Meaning, the sub was either taking on water or shrinking in size (minor hull failure/deformation) loooong before the CF popped off the dome and poof.
Yea, I remember the final text said something like "dropped two weights"
If they weren't ascending at the right speed it was a motor failure. The hull was fiberglass it can't deform, it can get cracks and hold or fail. The scary stuff leading up to failure would be loud sounds coming from the hull.
Nope and nope. It's motors are for maneuvering mostly. The emergency ascent is about dumping weights to decrease the sub's effective density, making it more bouyant.
The hull was carbon fiber, not fiberglass, and both deform readily under such pressure.
Nah. From hull breach to complete obliteration would be measured in fractions of a second. There's NO possibility there was some kind of "small leak" leading to anaphalaxis. The instant one large molecule could pass the seal... goodbye smash-aroonie.
Nope. The titan sub was having trouble. They dropped weights and were attempting to make an emergency ascent, but it wasn't rising fast. Meaning, the density of the sub was increasing. Some people are saying leak, others say water egress between CF layers and the hull failing, meaning contraction in the middle, like squishing a tube (see the simulations for how the static deformation would look like).
Sure, the complete failure was over in milliseconds, but not the experience of being an experimental test passenger on a rich moron's death trap!
They were comparing anaphylaxis to death in the sub, not saying it was from a leak on the sub.
The "anaphalaxis" I was talking about was the alternative to the sub crush, and what happened to the billionaire that is the subject of the article, so I think you might have misunderstood me?
For you or for the billionaire? I think the bee did it better
Oh no! Anyway...
What a way to go! All that money can't save you from nature.
Ooooooooh what a lucky man ... he-ee was was was was
Bee bro is the avatar of karma.
Thank the Beekeeper. Protect the Hive.
Luigi the Bee.
Is the bee ok?
oh no. Where will we find another rich douche to replace him?
Don't worry, I'm sure his assets will be distributed among the poor and starving people in the world.
Right?
We're gonna need a bigger bee to address that one
You would think, with all his money and outdoor polo playing, that he would KNOW that he has a severe bee allergy and carry an epi-pen.
He is a billionaire. He thinks he is special in every way! Epi-pen? That is for peasants!
Idk, I've never been stung by a bee. I might be deathly allergic, but I have no idea.
How have you never been stung by a bee? I’m genuinely asking.
I’ve been stung like a dozen times.
Idk. I don't fuck with them, they don't fuck with me. Bees are pretty docile in my experience. Been stung plenty by wasps, though.
Get an appointment with an allergologue, they will sting you with a bunch of differents compounds to see which ones make you react. Then you'll know for sure whether or not you can afford to be a beellionaire
Google tells me the word is allergist
I've been stung randomly twice, and once in a library right on my neck when someone swatted it away and it got stuck in my hair. Best to find it sooner than later.
i thought you had to inject as close to the sting as possible and y'know
The world's poor..."Release the Bees!".
Can we get an F in the chat for the bee heroine?
This is good news, Mark.
I almost put it in !positive_news@lemmy.ca lol
Am I a bad person for laughing after reading this headline?
Yes. You should be mourning the bee.
o7
This is why we need to save the bees.
1 down, 3027 to go
I don’t think I like your attitude
This is just literally how the world works
I was once on a farm, laughing at something, and a horsefly came up and bit me on the tongue.
I had no idea why it happened, still don't, but it was one of the worst things that had ever happened to me at that point in my life.
I got a cabin out in Shenandoah one time by Luray, and all the bugs out there are frickin massive.
I’m outside making bbq, having a mikes hard lemonade of some kind. Grab my bottle, take a swig, and suddenly I have what feels like a wet piece of carpet halfway in my mouth.
So I pull the bottle away from my face and lo and behold the most massive hornet I have ever seen in my life plops down and hits the ground. Like at least two and a half inches long. Little guy was drunk as all hell after taking a swim and thankfully didnt sting me when I had his ass in my mouth
Had a similar encounter with a wasp. Little bastard was blind drunk, I enjoyed seeing him trying to fly and failing out of sheer intoxication. Bumped into the umbrella stand a few times before it decided that walking was probably the better means of locomotion.
There's a video for that!
If it was a Murder Hornet, you should've called animal control. They want to eradicate the invasive species.
Of all the true stories of life experiences I've heard told to me over the years, that certainly is one of them.
keeping all that money didn't bring more security in this regard
Frankly his lavish lifestyle of bee eating was, in retrospect, not a good idea.
The more we have animals exhibiting human behaviors, on top of whales & bees straight up attacking billionaires, the easier it is to believe in a collective subconscious.
A friend remarked he was generous. That's why he had all those billions.
Thoughts and prayers
Is the bee a terrorist?
Save the bees!
Oh NO! PLEASE keep the Comments CIVILIZED! This man CHANGED Lives (by STEALING people's Money and Health!) and should be HONORED!
Think about how many joooooooooooooobs this guy made.

Got any bees in there?
People are downvoting you, I assume because they think you are lauding some other east Asian billionaire.
It's heavy on the philosophical metaphor, but "The Bee" goes on quite a bit about all power coming from God, etc.
With the focus of wealth inequality, I thought I'd just share this morbid reminder from the middle ages that there is no inequality in death. It will find everyone. No amount of money will let anyone escape it. Just something to consider when you are thinking about what to pursue in life. To that extent, I do feel somewhat sorry when I hear that a billionaire has died, because I know that they likely spent most of their life pursuing things that are ultimately worthless, and it makes me re-evaluate just what I am doing with mine.
But billionaires def work less than a lot of people without monies.
There are billions that work 10+ hours per day just to survive (working for and making billionaires richer).
A life with much less experiences than any billionaire, less vacations, less family time, etc.
They certainly don't have to work as much, or at all really. I recognize that there is an enormous gap between someone struggling to put food on the table and a billionaire, but it is also very easy to focus on work and increasing financial stability/independence at the detriment of more important things. It reminds of the song Cat's In The Cradle: https://youtu.be/5u-KWa3tL-0?list=RD5u-KWa3tL-0 (especially appropriate on Father's day weekend). My dad worked long hours when I was growing up, and I slept in a hallway/laundry room because he couldn't afford to rent a larger place, but he still made time for me and my siblings, and I wouldn't trade my childhood for literally all the money in the world.
Does that mean that people who are struggling to feed their family don't really need the money? No. Would it have been easier if my family had more money? Sure. But I have also noticed that peoples' lifestyles seem to grow to match their incomes, and it never seems like it is quite enough. There is always that next job or promotion or opportunity that will put you in a slightly better position and then finally it will be enough. Once basic needs met (air, water, food, shelter), I believe that money can start creating more problems for people than it solves. With tons of money comes tons of distractions, and temptations; there aren't any poor people on the Epstein list. Its easy for me to say they are horrible people and I would never engage in activities like that, but it also isn't an option for me. I can't honestly claim virtue for avoiding an evil that my situation in life doesn't allow for. Life seems much easier when nobody stops you from getting what you want, but I have to wonder if sometimes it is a blessing in disguise when they do...
Yes, but you are not describing how the elite lives, or does business/opportunities.
They have people for the toughest of work & decisions. Their only work is moving capital around & giving general ideas to people working for them. The people working for them are paid millions.
(The "manual labor", such as designs or wherever, is like a hobby, not a business/success necessity.)
There is an unimaginable difference between people with 10s of millions ("rich") vs billions.
(And, since you mention 'promotions', there is a total mentality shift between the owner class & the working class, even when the latter get paid millions.)
And/Tho workaholics aren't really tied to a class.
I know plenty of workaholics that are lower or middle class, overworking themselves bcs they can't really not do it, even when they know they are missing on family time & extra work won't provide extra finances.
No.
The whole mentality of "yo, it's really hard to be rich, not worth it, feel sorry for me" is literally just propaganda for the workers to be docile & keep working dead-end jobs.
Plenty of low-income junkies.
Plenty of low-income pedofiles.
Just their surroundings are different if they are billionaires. And their power and immunity too.
Its just people, all of it, with the difference that a few benefit from the work of/added value by many.
"A man may fish with the worm that hath eat of a king, and eat of the fish that hath fed of that worm."
-Hamlet, A4S3
Eat the rich, got it 👍
Nono, feed them to worms and fish with those worms. Gotta' let nature filter out some of those billionare greed toxins first.
From what I heard, this billionaire seemed like a decent person. But who knows. There are conflicting sources.
There are no good billionaires.
Yep there are a couple thousand people with an outsized impact on society and at anytime they could organize and do a lot of good. But they all sit by quietly and actively destroy the society that gave them so much.
That they took so much from* FTFY
They are exactly like gardeners that only harvest the crop and do not replant any seed. So... thieves.
That's not true! No matter what kind of billionaire he was in life, now he is a good billionaire. You might also say that all dead billionaires are good billionaires.
You do not retain assets when you die. There is no such thing as a good billionaire.
No, because they still have a history of being a billionare. Is Hitler magically good after he capped himself? Hell, is every murderer that then turns their weapon on themselves magically good, too?
They still had family and friends, and people who loved them.
I agree that having such vast amounts of money can't be a good thing whichever way you look at it, but expressing joy when someone dies is just not civilized in my opinion. It just isn't.
What good do you think will come from simping for billionaires?
I never said anyone should be simping. I'm just saying that we can have some human decency and not celebrate someone's death. It's not like his death will cause his wealth to be distributed evenly among the rest of us. No reason to throw a party and ridicule by saying shit like "is the bee okay?" (no matter how funny it is).
BEES! GET YOUR BEES HERE! SPICY FLIES, ALL DAY LONG. GET YOUR BEES HERE!
Rooofl "spicy flies!!!" I love that
I'm interested, are your spicy flies freshly africanized or is this a long term colony?
Proof that God hates billionaires.
"...slain, after all man’s devices had failed, by the humblest things that God, in his wisdom, has put upon this earth." - H. G. Wells, The War of the Worlds
There is an entire book damning the wealthy/richbastards said to be "the word of God."
New Testament... nothing about abortions.. gay people... but lots about rich people. Particularly forgiving "prostitutes" (which I think included abandoned/divorced women).
There's also that part about usury that everyone just sorta ignores. Most Christians can't even define the word.
Good.

I was stung once by a bee when I was a kid and my mother threw mud on it. While the mud dried, it drew out the stinger.
anyhow, mad props to bees. They are heroes more ways than one. I actually find this quite inspirational. No matter how small and insignificant you may feel you are, small acts can still have big consequences.
So, apropro of nothing, is it possible to train bees?

For the bee
I saw this Black Mirror episode...
This does mean we still get to make our annual billionarie sacrifice to the Deep Ones right?
Dude, we had a sub down, a CEO shot (and Luigi didn't do it. I am praying for an acquittal), and now this! I mean the whales are still attacking yachts, and I am hoping for more karma to land on their asses due to their own hubris.
What would be funny is that if you have someone planning to go Luigi on a billionaires ass only for them, just moments before, die in a stupid and unrelated manner... then our would be assassin just walks away not having done anything and saying 'meh, saved me the trouble!'
Ooooh, we should do one for each of the elements!
The submarine was for the Water goddess, let's say the bee was for the Wind.
Next up, Earth and Fire.
Let's do the periodic table of elements. Keep it modern and keep the process moving as 4 is not enough and we get go boil the rich in exotic metals.
progress
One down, 11 to go
Why only 11?
Apparently there's thousands of billionaires. Which completely baffles. Just one of them could make sure kids never had to go hungry ever again.
Kids don't go hungry because of money, they go hungry because of politics. Famines are the product of conflict, especially war. And hunger in countries that are not at war is a product of social inequality. Sure a billionaire could help but that's just a temp fix.
I disagree. I believe that billionaires control the world. It is their attitude that is pervasive throughout government that allows the hunger to continue. Not to mention the number of uber rich people in the various governments, riding around in limousines while their people starve.
Also capitalism requires a large body of poor people to support it. Those cheap T-shirts aren't made by highly paid labor. And who benefits most from capitalism?
I can probably come up with numerous other connections between the ultra rich and the state of poverty.
I think it's like a mixture of both. There's like a relationship between the two, you know? I feel like your contribution is necessary though. Like, what is money? But the physical representation of our collective endeavors. The state takes away our autonomy and gets us the chase after money. When money can no longer buy things, the state uses its monopoly of violence to keep us all in order. It's all just like a control structure.
My [sister/brother/other] in [insert deity] have you forgotten that in almost every place on the globe food is purchased with money? And that money is also how you buy politicians? One billionaire absolutely could solve hunger through a combination of direct donation and political spending.
While money is used to by goods and services, it isn't those goods and services. It's essentially a measure of resource allocation. More money means you get more resources.
People don't go hungry due to lack of money, they go hungry due to lack of food. In an area undergoing famine, you can give people money and they'll buy food. This means people who were eating before are now going hungry. If you keep giving out money, the price of food starts to rise. Keep going, and eventually it's cheaper to leave the country than it is to buy food.
The systemic causes of hunger are complex. The complexity is sufficient that fixing them would take more money than any billionaire has.
In the US for example, we keep production high and costs low by subsidizing agriculture to the tune of $30-60 billion a year. We give individuals about $115 billion a year in money to buy food. Another $3 billion for emergency food aid. Another $25 billion for lunch for school children. Then there's intangibles, like a side effect of food subsidies being the government owning millions of tons of milk, cheese and produce that it just gives to people. Not cheap, but difficult to quantify exactly.
This all has side effects and weird consequences. Like agricultural subsidies driving down costs of grain for the entire world, making it unprofitable to be a farmer in areas with borderline arable land and causing communities to depend on imports for food, making global food market fluctuations another source of famine risk. There's also some obesity and other health impacts, as well as things like improved academic performance, but those aren't relevant to this.
To actually solve the issue, you need to invest in agricultural development. The US government spends another $200 billion a year on this. Basically, instead of just buying food or paying people to grow it, you need to invest in the tools to do so, and to manage pests and everything. Roads, water, tractors, bulldozers, powerplants, education, and all the things that support those things.
All told, the US government spends about $500 billion a year on this, and it's given us a consistently high ranking in food security indexes, with food being generally affordable and safe, and slightly less available, depending on the economy. All that, and only about 50 million people are in food insecure positions in the country.
This is before we get to the costs of doing foreign food aid.
There are billions of food insecure people on earth, and 700 million hungry.
Elon musk liquidating all his assets at face value couldn't cover the bill for one year in the country that needs the least assistance.
That being said, while they can't solve it they're certainly part of the cause. The systemic failures that have led to hunger are embodied in them. If we decided to not allow billionaires to exist, we'd be making changes to society that would actually allow us to make those expensive and overwhelming changes to solve the problems above.
One person doesn't have the resources to build roads and infrastructure needed to build the infrastructure needed to support modern farming in areas that can only scrape by, teach people the new methods needed, teach the people needed to support those people, and all of that again for getting the food to the people who need it. But if society decided people like that shouldn't exist, the resources spent so that some portion of the resources end up in their pocket would be enough to do that.
Hahahaha. Good.

This is the way.
Literally no idea who he is but I'll celebrate the death of a billionaire no matter who they are. Fuck that guy - glad he's dead.
I beg your pardon: you're glad that he's dead?
Wait til you discover what he did to his ex before the bee took him out - you might even be thrilled:

So he was India's PDiddy?
to bee and not to be.
The question is, are well do bees adjust in Florida? Like, around a golf course let's say?
how genetically engineered are those golf greens and will bees enter? I would think in FL, those bees would be supersized, esp. with all the tropical flora.
Sic semper apiaster
Bummer. I was hoping to ask whether there was a honey flavor or more of a floral sugar flavor. Apparently it's a quick death.
One down.... Many more to go.
And now? Who is gering the money?
My billionaire stepped on a bee
Dumb ways to die, dumb ways to diiiiieeee...
Now that's my kind of beellionaire!
The acorns of our time.
Oh nice
Sounds like assassination.
(Based on nothing)
Pretty sure the CIA experimented with using bees to kill Fidel Castro.
They pretty much tried everything else....
essentially a kamikazee bee.
That's hilarious.
YIPPEE!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the sequel to there was an old lady that swallowed a fly just dropped 💀
First it was murder hornets, now regular bees are after us as well…
To be fair.... not all of us.

Yes? Not The Onion means silly but real. The Onion is silly and fake. Do you not understand this basic distinction?
One day he fell dead on the pavement by no hand. He happened to die next to....
RIP Poor dude :( but this is like something that happens all the time, why is this news?
Are you being sarcastic? Like poor dude(the bee) or poor dude(the billionaire)?
I don't think someone dying of anaphylactic shock is funny, I know Lemmy dehumanises everyone who doesn't follow their strict left wing criteria but yeah this is in bad taste imo
They were a billionaire, their entire life was in bad taste, fuck this sympathy for the devil bullshit.
Oh so if they have $999,999,999 they're ok? Or how many gold pieces can a person have before you consider them worthless?
It's even more futile trying to reason with anyone on here than on Reddit, don't bother.
I’m not getting into the minutia of philosophy or playing into arguments of billionaire apologia, we’d be better if every billionaire were dead, point blank, if you want to cry about the semantics and split hairs about it then do that with someone who gives a shit. I’m glad this guy is dead for a lot of reasons, the world is a better place with him as a corpse, and that’s true for every billionaire.
I guess
Yeah not sure where a man dying of anaphylactic shock is quite the funny story I'd read on the onion that's all
I've seen this phenomenon of Zionists defending oligarchs before.
I think this is your noble contribution:

To each his own, but I'll continue to laugh at the psychos being taken out by respectable bees, orcas, and imploding submarines. As for this "poor dude" referenced in the article, let's not forget how he treated his ex:
https://www.moneycontrol.com/entertainment/when-karisma-kapoor-alleged-abuse-in-divorce-plea-sunjay-kapur-forced-me-to-sleep-with-his-friends-article-12831156.html
I just think laughing when someone dies is not civilized behavior at all. It's barbaric, no matter who has died. You could have the feeling/opinion that it was a good thing after adding all things up, but to laugh and joke and ridicule... That's just caveman style. My two cents.
Reportedly the dude was also a dick, and horrible to his ex-wife, but the bee didn't know that before it killed him.
This really shouldn't be news.
You yooouuuuuu you silly gooseberry... I saw what you did there.
He’s a wife abusing billionaire, don’t mourn him
It's hard to tell rich people what to do.
We need to train more bees
The news: "He will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends — he was fun, kind and generous. He didn’t distinguish between his grooms or high net worth friends — when he had a party, everyone was invited and everyone was equal." He leaves behind a daughter and two young sons.
This forum: Didn't read the article, don't know anything about him but good on the bee. Yay death!
Billionaires don't get to be billionaires by being nice or good.
Name one "good" billionaire, I'll wait.
They also support each other with the media outlets they own.
This guy made his new wife sleep with his friends right after their wedding.
They let news outlets release this to press back in the day because it was a man's world and they didn't care about the optics like they do now.
There are no good billionaires, prove me wrong.
I suppose JK Rowling, regardless of her personal politics, made her actual money by writing the world's most popular children's book series. Likewise George Lucas I guess is probably a billionaire too. And Taylor Swift.
But these are examples of incredibly lucky creators of novel IPs. There's always been a handful of these people on the lower end of the upper end of economic power.
Inflation made them billionaires by convenience, next.
Wait, did you start a sentence with JK Rowling? When being asked about a good billionaire? She’s literally a walking dumpster fire
I read one book and I was like, oh cute. And then I forgot about her until she became a cunt.
I disagree with her politics and bigotry... however, I think the poster was saying that she did not inherit millions to turn them into billions. She built a media empire on her own. I mean, I can separate the art from the artist in most cases but I can appreciate it without sending enriching them by purchasing secondhand or borrowing from the library.
Broadly I would tend to agree but... there's plenty of billionaires who give away billions. Rather than wait, just google it. It doesn't mean they're nice people but their money does good. There's no getting around that.
I know that most wealthy people give money either as a performance for others or out of guilt but that's still money given to people who need it. Personally I don't care about their motives so long as their money actually helps.
As for somehow creating some kind of socialist utopia where billionaires don't exist, you would be ignoring our entire history as a species. Sooner or later "some animals are more equal than others". It sucks, particularly if you are the sort of person who has an abundance of empathy but there it is. Best we can do, I reckon, is look after the people in our immediate vicinity. If we all did that mind you then maybe things would get better but I'm not holding my breath.
The suffering and death required to create and sustain any billionaire should bee punished.
I see what you did there. Bee smart. Lol

Like who, bill gates and Warren buffet? Are you sure they’re giving away their billions or did they just say so? Or are they giving their money to “charities” run by their kids and their kid's friends as a way to funnel their wealth to their children? Which is what buffet and gates literally do. These people are billionaires, you don’t think they have PR that tells them to say they’re altruistic? You don’t think they straight up lie when they tell you they’re giving away their money?
I think Gates' ex-wife has been administering a lot of money through her foundation.
News says he abused Karisma Kapoor.
(Googles it...) Wow... "She claimed in her divorce plea that Sunjay forced her to sleep with his friends on their honeymoon. She also alleged that he asked his mother to slap her when she was pregnant."
Scumbag confirmed.
Not just to slap her while pregnant, but specifically because she didn’t fit into the dress her MIL wanted her to wear.
You know how pregnant people tend to stay the same size throughout their pregnancy
What a little bitch (him obv).
There’s no such thing as a good billionaire. That’s like watching a man eating dragon sitting on a pile of gold and being like “yeah but he gave me a coin once”
To become a billionaire, you steal the wages, benefits, severance, etc. from all the employees that made you a rich with their labor. You become a billionaire by keeping 99% of the wealth from the work of others. Billionaires are literally hoarding wealth while millions starve. How is that a good man? If you’re a billionaire, you fucked everyone on your way up. You’re not good.
Absolutely, yay this particular death. Some deaths are righteous.
Fuck his friends and family.
Typical Lemmy - far left, anti-billionaire, anti-Microsoft, yadda yadda...
UNO....Typical Libturd, showing up late to the party and invading spaces. Vote Blue No Matter Who. Doop-dee-doo.
Lol talk about showing up late, go neck yourself dipshit 😅
