This change in perspective is one of my favorite things about folks who are younger than me. Kudos for putting this kind of misogyny behind us.

It’s not just that though. People are also sick of the “husband dumb” jokes that infest sitcoms. Like, why are you two married if you both hate/disrespect each other? Oh, right. Divorce use to be a taboo.

I laughed at the picture, showed it to my wife, she laughed, and then I checked the comments and realised that we’re too old for the Internet…

When showing our virtue and condemning “wrong think” aren’t there additional adjectives we can add to misogynists’?

You’re too old and from a time when on the face of it something was just funny or not. There was no hidden meaning. You could kid about marriage while loving your wife.

“No, you don’t understand, if you just don’t think about the consequences of the things you say or do, this is really funny!”

You should genuinely be embarrassed to post this kind of stuff.

I think it’s probably because more and more people are consciously deciding to be with someone rather then „we need to marry, have kids and build a house” to fulfill other people’s expectations.

Ah yes, nothing like a little chauvinism to start my day. Women should be seen, not heard, amirite guys?

    /s just in case.
