People in turn thought it was the official discord server and that Xananax an official member, and started harassing the actual Godot staff. They are forced to ban people who appear to be harassing them for no reason. Today they posted a statement to clarify

Stop using X/Twitter! Especially if you want to stop promoting hate.

This is a dogwhistle commonly used by those with very abhorrent opinions to try to silence others with opposing opinions like “can we please do something about police killing unarmed people” or “gay/trans/[insert here] people are people deserving of rights and freedoms and representation too” because they don’t like people threatening their very closed and bigoted world view
There is absolutely nothing bigoted about separating concerns, and avoiding mixing genders & sex into programming and engineering. The fact that people want to look good by doing random stunts like this while labelling “bigots” and “nazis” anyone who disagrees tells pretty much everything about why extreme left provoke such repulsion
Also a part of a long game of “We go low, you go high”. They are suspiciously silent about right-wing politics in media. In fact, during the whole Hogwarts Legacy drama, I found a VTuber fan, that claimed trans people should keep their politics out of VTubing, just use a voice transformer or something to hide their identity. I asked if wouldn’t the same rule of “keeping your politics out” apply to them, thus playing a game tied to a highly controversial author would be political. I paraphrase their tweets:

We know that some of the media we enjoy is right wing, or some of the old ones unfortunately contains left wing propaganda. Was sad to see Lunduke side with the trolls and generally voice the same dogwhistles as the bigots and trolls. Seeing his comment section complain about wokeness and generally voicing the losing side of the culture war (with varying levels of masking their hateful views) was pretty sad as well
Looks like Godot is handling it well. They took a stance in support of LGBTQ rights but condemned the not so business safe statements by Xananax and distanced themselves from them, plus they reiterated their policy of reviewing bans as needed
That mod has always been causing headaches by reactionaries, usually for banning people that came in to stir shit. They’ve also always been edgy and they’ve been in hot water before, I don’t agree with any of that behavior but since they’re not moderating the official server I… don’t have to deal with it
