      It’s probably all avocados that are going to go bad overnight if they don’t sell them.

      You buy 15 for a dollar and you don’t care if 10 go bad before you can eat them.

      Depends on the stand, some don’t require purchase and some you have to buy like a basket of strawberries or whatever else they have in season

    See this on the roads around Fallbrook, California, but even when it’s 5 for $1 they are usually still pretty small and days away from ripening. Putting them in a paper bag with a cut up apple helps to speed that up.

        Didn’t know it had a name! I’m not from an english speaking country, so I wasn’t aware of the phenomenon!

        I refrain from ranting about the unbecoming apostrophe’s the seemingly hundred’s of times I see it here on Lemmy every day, but I figured this greengrocer was fair game…
