of course this month steam catches me for the survey on my $100 microcenter special that i lovingly call “the craptop.” but i still hit submit.

    After twenty years on Steam, I’ve been asked three times to participate in the survey on my gaming setup, and on three occasions I played on Windows. No survey in the last five years while using Linux. :)

    I’ve got it twice on my work laptop, where I used it just for the messenger, back when I ran an active community for a game.

    Not sure if I want to trust that data.

        I’ll singlehandedly save linux gaming by doing this every month. But I’d have to throw AMD under the bus since I still have green… Life’s hard choices.

        edit: There is no “Hardware” option and “System Information” doesn’t have a button to send it in :(

            hehe exiting steam and running

            sed -i -e '/SurveyDate/ s/"[0-9].*"/"'$(date +%Y-%m-%d -d "1 year ago")'"/' ~/.local/share/Steam/config/config.vdf

            then starting it back up did work to get the survey popup (found it in this r*ddit thread)

            This is definitely a shady thing to do though hehe
