I lived with a Brazilian dude many years ago. He had just moved to Canada, where I’m from, and was going to university. Santos-Dumont got brought up at some point and I never forgot about him. It would be pretty damn cool to have Star Trek recognize it where most people don’t.

His plane was built in Paris, so maybe the French also have some feelings regarding that matter
