Zelenskyy shows interrogation of North Korean POWs, proposes their exchange – video

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has shared the first video of the interrogation of North Korean soldiers captured in Russia’s Kursk Oblast and stated that Ukraine is ready to return them to their home country as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia.

When one of the prisoners is questioned if he realised he was fighting against Ukraine, he shakes his head in denial. As the interpreter translated, the prisoner was told he was merely going for training.

The prisoner originally expressed a desire to remain in Ukraine, but subsequently stated that he would “do as he is ordered”. The interpreter explained, “If he has to return, he will. If given the chance, he will stay here.”

Another North Korean prisoner nodded affirmatively when asked if he wanted to return to North Korea.

    This feels a bit like a Allegory of the cave type situation. They dont really understand whats going on and are probably scared and confused as fuck about this completely different world they were dumped into. Returning to their normal might feel like the safer option to them.

    Socrates explains how the philosopher is like a prisoner freed from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall are not the direct source of the images seen. A philosopher aims to understand and perceive the higher levels of reality. However, the other inmates of the cave do not even desire to leave their prison, for they know no better life.
