I had chagas as a kid, and it wreaked havoc on my body. One doc pointed out I probably had some organ scarring. That was over ten years ago. So, as the title, do I need to be on my toes as I get older?

    Scaring is healing…

So while I was gonna say “no”, I googled to see if organ scarring was different and it is

Just not in a good news type of way. Apparently the scar will keep spreading, which is healing. But it’s maladaptive like cancer and may have continued to replace healthy tissue with scar tissue in an attempt to heal.

This is definitely something you ask your doctor about

While /c/askscience doesn’t have a rule against soliciting medical advice, I’d strongly recommend against trusting the comments from random internet strangers. Especially those without authoritative sources to back them up.

Unfortunately the only way to get a reliable answer to your question is to speak to a medical professional.
