Btw this is absolutely not negotiable, if you support genocide or fascists you will be banned.

It’s hard because in the U.S. the political spectrum seems to mostly run from social liberal as the most common conception of “left” and until relatively recently with the rise of Trump and the “alt-right” the right was likewise draped in the ideological clothing of liberalism. Practically everything was liberalism, both “left” and “right”, so a term like “liberal” in the U.S. has become practically synonymous with “left-wing” despite the irony of that association.

So it’s hardly surprising that liberals would be common, it’s the starting place for everyone in the U.S.

Liberals in the US are distinctly right wing, however. They subscribe to capitalism, and starting with Clinton they’ve been nothing but fascist adjacent. Candidates like Bernie Sanders may be slightly more close to center, but it’s just wrong to say that the Democrats align with leftism in any way. They only appear leftist from the perspective of our unequivocally fascist party, the Republicans. Liberalism is also a far right ideology.

Yes, that was rather the point I was trying to make, more or less 😅

That it’s not that crazy that liberals are going to come into leftist spaces because they mistakenly think they are leftists. To be fair, I do think a lot of U.S. liberals who identify as progressives hold the broad ideals of the left and would be leftists if they knew more, but that’s a separate discussion.

I agree with you! I hope we can open up dialogs and make people more aware. I feel like the younger generations are doing better than mine, but we can’t just rely on them. I mostly try to be an example by helping neighbors and doing community service through my work.
