I kinda feel bad for the people who think Trump would only hurt us and not them. At the same time, they’ll have a lot of fun harming us.
It’s much more likely now that vigilante bigots will feel emboldened, so keep an eye out and never count on anyone to save you. Find allies and avoid being isolated if you live in red country. Groups of fascists will not hold back on killing, and the cops will do more than passively allow it. The danger is very real, and you will not be able to resist multiple people on your own. Fight unfair because they never will. Get every advantage you can.
I’ve isolated myself from my neighbors simply because I have a pride flag on my front door.
Those of us who can will fight on your side and offer places of safety.
Look for helpers. We will be there.
We’ll all need to rely on each other. We’ll do everything we can to pass it on and help out however we can. Stay safe ❤️
hmhmm
;(
Stay as safe as you possibly can comrades, arm yourselves if you can, look out for those who can’t, and organise (E: create safe spaces to meet council and support each other, especially those who also face racism and or the risk of deportation, safe houses where people can live if they can’t stay where they are, pantries and kitchens to feed people who are struggling, get basic medical training so you can try to help if someone is hurt and the hospitals aren’t safe, provide care and support to those most vulnerable like the very young, old, and or disabled, train on the weapons you are able to get a hold of and learn self defence and attack tactics, learn how to make your own weapons, disrupt and resist wherever you can, and so on…)
This is what conceiled carry permits are for.
Those are going to be useful for tracking people down when Trump bans private gun ownership.
My old boss used to say “if they come for his guns they ain’t going to be able to ask his neighbor.” Guess we will find out.
You need to study the suicide statistics surrounding firearm ownership. Also the suicide statistics regarding gender dysphoria. This is horrible advice.
The main problem is that then you’re in the cop’s crosshairs, and the Leviathan will not give up easy. If you’re queer, prison can be extra dangerous, even if you are able to clear your name. The self defense calculus is different if you don’t want to involve cops.
Mace is far better, as they’ll be less likely to get police backup if they got maced by someone who ran. Also, face masks can keep your identity hidden from people in such attacks
Yup, when it’s one against many, and the many can almost guarantee backup, you want escape as your primary goal when you’re up against one or two, not elimination as a primary goal.
Yeah, be armed, be trained, be ready. But you gotta pick the time and place for action, not just go off randomly.
stay strapped, friends.

Times is tough

That’s a horrible way to think about it I’ll say it’s more accurate to think that about 10% of those people hate you beyond reason and may attack you the other 90% don’t care, or they have eaten enough propaganda to have a negative opinion but actually don’t care either
When the 90% do nothing about the 10% that harass or assault trans people, we still have a colossal fucking problem.
When you got 10 nazis in a room of 100 people and they aint having their ass kicked… you got 100 nazis.
the other 90% don’t care, or they have eaten enough propaganda to have a negative opinion but actually don’t care either
In other words they’ll just look the other way as you get dragged off…
Real fucking consolation that. /S
10% of 1000 is 100. The issue is that attacks will be more likely, more dangerous, and harder to deal with because the government is a more active enemy. And that’s if the government isn’t who attacks you!
The point is not to vilify people. The point is you do not know until it’s potentially too late who the 10% are.
I did not take this as a call to demonize “others”; OP quite clearly framed this as a reminder to stay safe. Minimizing the very real risk of violence puts you in a position where by the time the violent extremist has revealed themselves, it’s likely too late.
It is possible to both recognize the dangerous reality of these modern times, but to also do so without adopting the bigotry of our enemy.
The paradox of tolerating the intolerant must be remembered.
