Pubmed article that says I’m not full of shit.

Yes it is a dieting aid, the basic objective of losing weight is to control caloric intake. If you skip breakfast and can do so without significant hunger or energy issues it absolutely works as a method of controling intake. There is not a single diet on earth that will allow you to lose weight if you are putting in more calories than you burn.

There is literally no evidence that it slows down or messes with your metabolism. It IS however sub-optimal for anyone trying to gain muscle mass or anyone with a physically strenuous job.

How can a meal be low carb AND balanced? Low carb is a bunch of fad bullshit. Carbs arent a problem, easily accessible, highly processed, highly paletable, calorie dense carbs are a problem.

The last point is just straight up common sense. If you’re gonna not eat all day and then fuck up 2 meatlovers pizzas the problem isnt that you’re fasting.

Structural Fasting is a dieting aid yes, i am not in disagreement of such.

Your source details many structural ways to do this but none are having a single large meal in the evening every day.

Of course memes are subjective but i am part of communities where this type of meme is very common and the behavior understood as a symptom of not great mental health. The top comment here actually echoed the original. “I am shaking, i guess i forgot to eat again”.

You have me again at carbs, i know they are bullshit but that is a common misconception from people who don’t suffer this. People assume this one meal is “normal” and in proportion of a single meal while in reality its a bag of potato chips, fried meat and whatever is still left in the snack drawer. For me, also include an ungodly amount of sugary energy drinks to stay operational during the day.

Its generally not a problem one should desire.

Ive found that the sugar free energy drink sector has gotten REALLY good in the last few years. What you have to watch for now is that everyone feels the need to cram a shitload of B6 into everything. Its really easy to consume 1000% of your daily requirement which over time puts you in “nerve damage” territory.

I recommend the Ghost drinks, sour green apple is my jam.
