I’ve also lived in the russia for 10 years and even to this day have a few russian friends.

Nothing more than what I said. Also this isn’t too specific to Ukraine, but one can’t absolve states from doing such things simply because there are too many others doing the same. And being one of the strongest ex-Soviet states, it affects the issue quite a lot.
