I’m wondering the flight staff didn’t observe some abuse and offer the upgrade as a means to intervene without, confronting the known-violent asshole.

He has previously broken her finger, got mad that she got an upgrade and he didn’t, and he’s supposed to spread the word of God?

You don’t understand. God says she’s his property so he’s allowed to do that. He’s spreading that god’s word.

He told authorities of a previous incident where she allegedly grabbed his leg while he was driving and broke her finger.

No see, she broke her own finger! You know that thing that happens when you grab something and your finger just breaks? So common.

I don’t know why I wanted to look it up, but I found their ages in an article about the incident from The Guardian.

    He’s 75, she’s 59, and they’ve been married for a year and a half.

I’m glad this was documented, and I hope she’s able to get out of the marriage. (And that he never works again, the hypocrite.) No one deserves that sort of abuse.

Holmberg was arrested upon landing for simple assault and transported to the Anchorage Correctional Center. According to court documents, he has since been released and cannot come within 100 yards of his wife.

In a statement to ABC News, a spokesperson for Alaska Airlines said, “Mr. Holmberg has been banned from our flights…”

These are good steps, but I wonder if we’ll just see more of the same in the future.
