Summary

The FBI and CISA have uncovered an extensive Chinese cyberespionage campaign targeting U.S. telecommunications networks.

Hackers linked to Beijing accessed call records and intercepted communications of individuals in government and political spheres, attempting to infiltrate surveillance programs governed by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

This follows recent Chinese cyber operations, including a botnet scheme and alleged phone hacks targeting high-profile U.S. figures.

In response, U.S. agencies and the telecom industry are strengthening defenses.

Ah this soon will be remedied. Not because the Chinese stop this stuff, but because the FBI will be dismantled by putting loyalists in place where competency should matter.

I feel like US telecommunication networks were always vulnerable because they were always intentionally insecure so that the US government could illegally wiretap and spy on its own people. Then they later passed laws that conveniently threw the 4th amendment in the trash so it would all be legal.

But I’m sure the new US president will get right on it and appoint someone like Elon Musk to handle cybersecurity and intelligence, because he is “very good with the cyber”.

God, I want off this fucking nightmare train.

You know what the british did in WW2 when the got into german messages? They intentionally put out fake evidence to explain where the information could have been gotten from, to make sure they could use the code breaking machines as long as possible. They still pretended to try to get information in other ways even if not successful to maintain the facade it wasn’t all in the pocket already.

I’m not saying that’s what tiktok is, but I’m not not saying that, and the US sure as shit isn’t going to just admit they got hit like that.
