Can you imagine what it would be like if they just walked out when the end date arrived? No need:

A strike is “this is what it could be like if we walked out in the last day of our contract instead of bargaining in good faith” so people know they’ve stayed on a year after that last contract expired. They didn’t leave.

You think I’d stay on if my contract died? I’d be excited out.

I think walking out is how we need to do this for a few years and see whether the company can negotiate a contract faster than it’s doing now. Do it a few times until Justin or Milhouse have to step in and ask them on camera why they can’t plan for essential service continuity like grown-ups.
