it was so fucking peak on my Samsung man what a throwback

I’ve been in the same boat, so i got myself a cheap phone (actually a hand-me-down from my mom in the form of a Redmi 6A lol), flashed lineageos and didn’t install gapps. Basically as dumb as a smartphone gets. Then you get fdroid and aurora store and you’re good to go. However, i use that phone only when i need to focus, so about 5-6 hours a day, so unfortunately i still have a smartphone. So maybe it would be worth it for you to look into that sorta thing, definitely has helped me regain control.

The only thing I was put off by the linux way was how much setup would need to be done for making the screen vertical. Like if I had to go to desktop mode to rotate the screen every time i wanted to read manga. Whereas here i downloaded two apps, one for screen rotation control (didn’t really experiment with adding gyro for rotation control, dunno if it’s even possible) and one for manga.

Would increasing the text size help with reading? Sometimes I can’t catch details either, but with how high quality the scans and software got you can just zoom in and the 7 inch screen will help with that.

it was indeed on 3 watts except for Android bootup which took a bit more juice.

Mihon thru Waydroid. way less hassle than anything else and android is great for touchscreen

There’s a good mod for it now that replaces the hard drive with an adapter for two SD cards, and it would let you put a shit ton of storage on it. If you’ve got some spare cash and patience I’d definitely recommend it.
