Nah, I’ve seen hate. But mostly from people who hate Wesdon-Like quip writting and, well, women-haters who can’t handle the characters being ugly (and they are ugly, admittedly), so I just dismissed the hate.

The equivalent community seeded on the site that starts with R and ends with eddit recently (a month ago) made it a rule that people can’t make “therapy” posts which means people posting topics can’t make them primarily about their grievances with personal time or with the industry. And the baseline quality of topics in that place went way higher.
I think there’s a lesson to take from that: Try and not give a shit. Just find games you like, and play and talk about them. Make that the top priority, and make these concerns secondary - and you’ll have a higher quality time with the hobby.
I personally have 0 idea why the news circles gave two weeks of attention to something like Suicide Squad. Game looked bad, reviewed bad, openly had manipulative features built in AND attached to update promises, and then releases and, whoa, turns out, surprise surprise, it IS bad. And yet, two weeks. Two weeks of random place just bringing up the bad game that is bad with a lukewarm stance. Fucking even Skill Up, which I avidly consume content of, gave it a whole hour of attention split across two weekly roundups. That is unhealthy. Games do NOT deserve attention just because they’re marketed. And, in no way I can convinced of otherwise: It’s objectively stupid to give it that. I just skipped any discussions related to it, will probably skip any discussion related to turtle rock, the studio, henceforth that doesn’t start with “they made a return to form! XYZ is the best game they’ve made!” and my life feels unsurprisingly unaffected and I feel personally, unsurprisingly, less stupid.
Manic Miner for the ZX Spectrum.
It was shit. And I don’t have to tell you why. Just look it up, sound on, that bit is mandatory.
My first ever gamer was a disappointment lmao. I did get super into the Megadrive and everything was fixed. But man.
Step 1: Don’t engage them, no room for their rhetoric.
You are to fuck off, and take your crypto and your blue line flags with you on the way out.
Then yes, we want an echo chamber. Happy? You’re still defending scum, no matter the semantics.

The fact the ad industry doesn’t have people veto the platforms they advertise on is a negative aspect of modern society. I see no issue with this going down. I’m far more lenient to capitalism when they produce sponsorships and financially aid events.
There is a difference already tho.
Early reddit didn’t have a gigantic metric fuckload of meme and shitpost users. We do now.
Reddit with their “subscriber” counts
Who cares your community has 100000 subs. 90000 of them are duplicates or gone.
Hell, I would even dare say, the best way to do it is to have the API be free up to a certain usage, at which point it becomes paid. Then the price scales down as you get even more and more usage.
This allows newcomers to the app space to get their footing, and punishes people trying to automate vote bots while rewarding established devs.
If there’s one place where I think the wrong Reddit attitude is starting to crop up is the anti/pro sync discourse that’s going on.
People are even outright lying about apps. Such as claiming other apps have toms of bugs, meanwhile, I’m trying out sync and there’s a comment sorting bug if you switch to top, some comments show up isolated when they’re a reply to something else, and even have several lines coming off from nowhere if you turn on colored indentations. Never seen this anywhere else, not even on Jerboa which is the oldest and generally least stable. Another bug, although this one I’ve seen, is that Sync doesn’t properly list all self-posts on the profile pages. Meanwhile, sync IS the most feature rich, and others are denying it. One example, Sync not just has an actual toggle for in-comment media preloading (they called them emotes for some reason), they even let you toggle specific services on generic link handling.
What I did here, is what those people don’t. Give specifics. This tribalism is peak upvote downvote fighting style characteristic of big /r/all communities on reddit and I hate it. Garbage threads.
Thank you prolific poster person
despite them completely hiding it in the trailers and promotional material
…
Finished Yugioh the sacred cards just now, and got annoyed they never let you use Winged Dragon of Ra.
Yeah, I read an article from someone explaining the actual user experience in Threads and it’s abysmal. You try to curate your feed and instead of getting what you expect, you get content from the likes of people your followers followed followed and are left wondering who the hell everyone is. It’s far from the type of setup you get on Instagram.
With that said, Threads had lost half its users ages ago. This headline is sensational, and the platform could easily recover. I don’t want to give it much weight.
I imagine them getting the actual person and that person, whose best interest is the continuity of pirate-friendly ISP service, just goes and testifies literally against them for wasting their time.
“The community in which I made those comments is a joke community where you mostly state the exact opposite of your mind, no different from how /r/trees is actually about joking about drug use.” “I have no further comment”

They did market it. A lot.
It’s just that the game’s trailers were wildly forgettable.
