The thing is there’s quite a lot I can agree with on with the politics of empires. however the really seek to simply replace one empire with another and have another global power dominate since it is their the global power instead of the liberal one. I have a pleasure of talking with one who isn’t quite as crazy as those on .ml, but we have talked about the institutions and politics of empires and how economic systems work. I’ve certainly become more of a socialist and I’ve gotten him to see a lot of the flaws in communist countries and the only one I haven’t really dispelled is Cuba. (I know relatively little about Cuba, and I think the US is a bit harsh towards them. Electoral politics makes it harder to open up to Cuba though)

That doesn’t really have much to do with domestic stuff. I mean, every military does fucked up stuff, but at the end of the day, they’re made of people and have their families. Even myself.

As a service member, I educated myself on tactics, philosophy, diplomacy, economics, culture, mental health, geography, and many other topics to understand how and why military force is used. I know it’s not for democracy à la Helldivers. It’s used to keep the trade going and to conduct politics through harder power.

As much crap is is going on in the world right now, the US military still has some scruples. They don’t just blindly follow Trump’s orders. And especially wouldn’t just fire into their countrymen. Trump hasn’t managed to take over every institution yet. Especially the military.

Service members know how to complain and think for themselves. And if something doesn’t seem right, they will clarify the heck out of it and push back. It’s not the Russian military

I’m a recently separated transgender veteran, and I’m well connected with those directly affected by this. Most branches are taking a similar route with a option to either voluntarily separate or else involuntarily separate after a board meets to separate you. Involuntary separation will take a much longer time, however some people still might like to take it just to be done with the military.

There’s very likely going to be a temporary restraining order on the effects of these executive orders. The case to look at is called Talbot V Trump. We are expecting to see it issued in the next week.

People can be separated from the military for a number of reasons including medical reasons, disciplinary reasons, inability to do their job, or other reasons. Most people will be discharged under honorable conditions, (unless there are other conditions that would characterize it differently)

I had a friend that separated early because of something the Air Force deemed “failure to adjust to the military environment”

This is One of the major things I’m worried about.

Namely I’m worried about mental health service, and getting medications paid for from the VA. I may have to find “alternate causes” to justify taking estrogen. Or else I may have to pick up the bill on some things.
