Ah thanks for the correction. Regardless my point still stands that these people were heavily armed/trained which I think is very surprising.
Holy shit that’s crazy. 45 15 police officers were killed too. I bring up this number in particular because usually, attacks like this, have people heavily armed against unarmed people. They usually get dispatched pretty quickly when they encounter any sort of armed resistance (police, or people with guns), but to see that they still were able to kill 45 police is crazy.
I’m hoping you’re right. What I could imagine is that he just wants to burn through the prisoners since if they don’t make it back, that’s less prison costs. So even if he has reserve troops available, he’d rather use prisoners first.
Wow this is a shitty headline, and the commissioner is an idiot too. A company wants to advertise their brand at the rally, and wants someone to wear their logo there. So it was not “Trump” that paid them (at least we have no evidence to suggest that) and they were paid to advertise rather than just attend. Lets talk about the the real problems Trump, the 34 time felon, actually has.
Idk If you’re talking about the US, but liberals/the left have to deal with Republicans having enough power to block any additional funding. The left does want to do more, it’s just difficult when one side wants to do things that help Russia
That being said, I do ultimately agree with your sentiment, the West is not doing enough quickly.
I mean the percentages are different, but the argument remains the same, Russia is attacking a sovereign nation and feels they can do it with impunity. Getting access to all of Ukraine’s resources helps them rebuild faster and help destabilize the West more since they would be able to affect food supply chains.
Putting being “moderate” is irrelevant (though I didn’t agree Putin, who is homophobic is moderate), his similarities are with his actions in attacking a country for personal Gain.
There is no other option to counteract Russian aggression, supporting Ukraine and sanctioning Russia are the major tools the West has. Ukraine can defend themselves but the West has been slow to provide sufficient support, quickly. This stems from Russian influence on the West as well (Republicans warming up to Russia, or things beneficial to them). Sanctions take time, to affect countries. Russia is currently selling oil at discounts and also may have to begin to import more oil. These are all problems for Russia that will continue to get worse.
It feels like your dismissing the idea of learning from history.
My understanding is Ukraine is a large grain producer and exporter. So I wouldn’t say the land is very barren. There’s definite upsides, but you and I would probably agree its going to be a huge cost for Russia.
This article touches on important: what are the Democrats in Congress doing to prepare for another Trump presidency?
He’s been pretty vocal about his vindictive he wants to be so you would expect them to say least be trying to push laws to restrict the abuse that he, or any other president could on political enemies.
The article mentions a bipartisan bill that passed the house but couldn’t get through the Senate. Why aren’t Democrats talking about that bill more publicly to get it passed?
Its about convincing people still on the fence with Trump. The most vocal are saying that the jury was a sham. The ones in the middle are less vocal. By not giving vocal Republicans any ammo, it helps make a convincing case to those Republican voters that weren’t hardline republicans/MAGAs. They’re the ones we need along with the voters that switch from the 2016 to 2020 elections.
Yeah, so the fact that he wasn’t proves my point. The Judge wasn’t showing signs of wanting to get Trump convicted. Compare that to if Trump is required to be in jail throughout the trail, because he was held in contempt. The right would be saying the judge, and this same verdict, were corrupt. That’s what they’re saying, now but there’s less evidence for them to use.
I disagree with that. The judges need to be a bit lenient with him so nobody can say that the judge was biased against him. This was sort of frustrating to those of us who saw the judge as being too nice to Trump, but its now a lot harder to say he was gunning to get him convicted.
You’re right but that’s not the problem attempting to be addressed with Denmark’s system.
Or a product of the current news setting. You’re basically saying that all R voters are complete idiots when they make up a large portion of the country (not the majority of course). This line of statements encourages R voters to entrench themselves, while not looking great to those on the fence.
I have friends who I respect that I’d classify as either R or on the fence. Where they get their news (Youtube, TikTok, Fox) is very attractive to their views but also incorrect at times. These sources are, for all intensive purposes, their eyes and ears of the political world. How can they not trust their eyes and ears?
Some people start to come around because lies start to break apart after a while. Some that are mad that the Covid hoax, which isn’t real, but is also going away in spring of 2020, and can’t really hurt people, still killed their family members. They see glimpses of Trump being an idiot, and dangerous and start to question what they’re being told and weather Biden is such a bad option in comparison. Making it easier for people to change their minds, and not insulting them and their friends, makes it easier to get people to vote blue or not vote red.
So it seems this is mainly in reference to large commercial building rather than homes (excluding apartments).
Its interesting to read that german property owners don’t like to reduce property prices in comparison to other countries when I thought others were pretty against lowering prices as well.
What industry? I’m more of less in the same boat as you. I’m in tech, and this articles assessment seems pretty spot on from my perspective.
I feel it’s been common knowledge since after the first month of the war that Russia has miscalculated significantly. They sent in paratroopers, some of the most time consuming and most expensive soldiers to train, into Kyiv where they were summarily killed or captured with no support. Other units ran out of ammo and fuel, with soldiers indicating they weren’t expecting to invade.
Every day this war lasts is a spit in the face to Putin and his shitty planning.
Its the next major step in the process of getting it rescheduled. Each step could potentially end that process, so each movement forward is great news.
I tried to look for something like this happening before and don’t see anything. Maybe it’s my bad searching skills, but this is definitely not great for Trump’s plans. Not certain how convincing it is politically though.
