Kinda, but nowadays it’s all filtered in so even in a mass market supermarket you can get some decent ingredients. Like anything else not common to the local palate, you have to pay. Kale is ridiculously expensive, for example.

If you’re worried about authenticity, probably compare notes with native cooks, but more importantly, check to see if the ingredients are correct. Very easy to get bastardised ingredients; as an example, living in an Asian country, I used to have a hell of a time getting the right herbs and vegetables for doing certain Western dishes with, and very common to get some pre-packaged “mix” of herbs instead.

My only complaint of the photo is I’m not seeing more of the innards of the sandwich! Or the height of it! Sounds like a nicely stacked one.

Singapore. Mala has really taken off in the past several years. Every hawker centre, food court and mall will have one of such places.

Well, not in everything, but mala-style food has really exploded here in the past 3-4 years, and very often when walking near any eatery I’ll get a whiff of that! Imagine if everywhere smelled like fried chicken.

How’s the mala sensation on this? Just a bit? Szechuan peppercorns are everywhere here nowadays and I’m a little wary of it as a result. xD

You don’t have to use it in the cloud too, all my camera photos are sitting in my drives, none of them have been uploaded to Adobe’s servers.

PS and LR at this price is cheaper than the perpetual licenses if I upgraded every other cycle, so it’s been cheaper for me. Of course there’s still cheaper alternatives for PS now (Affinity Photo is really good), but since I still use LR a lot and the cost is bearable, I stay on it.

Workflow just wasn’t as good, it didn’t have a lot of the little features (search was definitely not as nice to use), and as a Nikon shooter back then, it never nailed the Nikon colours the way I wanted without very heavy post-processing, which was time I didn’t want to spend.
