  • I’m fighting a similar parenting battle myself, currently. I’m a sole parent, tho. So I’m just fighting with myself. I’m trying to set limits for my kids, but I’m just not able to enforce them. I have my grandson living with me in kinship care, and he is extremely high needs, my 15yo is high needs, so my 12 yo gets no attention and has slipped into device addiction, I set limits, very minimal limits, mind you, because I’m trying to weeny her down, she still sneaks around them, then I take them away entirely. I took them away for a month, after warning her about 10 times that I would if I caught her again. She was absolutely fine after a week. Maybe make your partner a bet, lol. Is your partner the one at home with them mostly? Or do you both work long hours?









  • I’m Australian and I acknowledge the levels of racism. I think it’s the racists who think it’s not racist here. One guy told me he wasn’t racist, his hatred and disdain for ALL aboriginal people was valid because he had had traumatic experiences, first hand. (makes me so freaking angry even typing this) his traumatic experiences were absolute bullshit. Racists justify thier racism as “a valid explanation” so they don’t call themselves racists. So if people are saying it’s not racist here you’re probably talking to the racists. And Facebook. I also blame Facebook for this.



  • I watched a great doco, “how to live younger”, the first episode examines the effectiveness of exercise on the mind with respect to declining mental cognition and dementia. It probably covers a lot of what you want to know. Basically to remain optimally healthy, they suggest the best exercise is whatever you can actually stick with, but daily, even just walking. Getting the blood flowing increases the blood vessels in the brain, which increases blood flow to the brain. But they go into heaps of detail about individual parts of the brain, what their function is and how exercise helps that region, specifically. They talk about the chemicals your muscles release and what the benefits are, hormones and how they relate to body function etc. If you have a vpn, it’s streaming for free on abc iview currently.
