Not true. VFTs prefer nutrient poor soil. In fact, the main reason owners of these plants fail to keep them alive is not watering them with pure enough water. You’re supposed to use water with a TDS below 100ppm. Rain water or RO water preferred.

The reason these plants can survive in such low nutrient soils is because they evolved a different mechanism for obtaining nutrients.

Yeah, I actually got ducks for eggs soon after I purchased my house. But after getting the little dudes (in the mail) and watching them grow into full sized birds— I was reading and learning as much as I possibly could about how to best care for them. But this sort of research leads you down the path of agriculture literature. And the more I learned, the more it disgusted me. So my birds are full-time pets. I don’t eat their eggs, and I’ve tried to cook them and feed them back to the hens, but they don’t eat them. So now I just give the eggs away to my friends/family so they don’t have to purchase eggs. My logic is that doing this reduces the overall demand for factory farmed eggs.

(I have 4 hens and one drake. They are the most spoiled ducks to walk this earth.)

Yeah… we’re gonna need a source on that. In my small town there are zero libraries, and about 200 fast food joints. I’ve never lived in a city with more than a few libraries, and those with more than 1 are college towns.

You know you don’t need “beds” made of wood and metal to grow plants, right? You’d be shocked to know that most plants just grow right in the ground. Raised beds offer some benefits for sure, but are completely unnecessary for most home gardens.

I’m just so sick of multiplayer shooters. The repetition didn’t seem so bad when I was young, but now it just numbs my brain.

But BR is the perfect combo of “my squad vs the world” that you get in a PVE coop, but also the rush of beating real life opponents that makes you keep coming back.

Warzone is all my friends play now, but it’s gotten so stale that no one really pushes to squad up too frequently.

I’ll just add that I’m a fan of valetudo, but it can be a bit more involved than your standard firmware swap. I had to build a pin breakout board, and race against time to root my vacuum because there is an auto-reset programmed into some robots that can brick your vacuum if the jailbreak isn’t finished when the reboot is triggered.

Just read the process through all the way before you decide on device.

I was sweating like I was in the hurt locker when I did mine, because my partner would have NEVER let me forget the time I bought a $900 robot vacuum and broke it before it even cleaned the floor once!

In my experience, aqara motion/lux sensors are pretty binary. I have one in my greenhouse to help with my lighting, but the lux value goes from 0 to max when ANY amount of light hits it.

There is no way I can tell the difference between cloudy and sunny. I can’t tell the difference between 6am (sun just over the horizon, but still behind trees) and 12 noon.

I would love to be able to detect when the sun goes behind a tree and shades my garden, but that’s just not possible with the granularity of the data I’m getting.

I’ve seen those as well, but it didn’t seem to have an integration in home assistant. Now do you add the devices? Do you have to sniff the wifi traffic and intercept them with mqtt or something?

I have needed that graphical view of temp and precipitation. I only wish I could have both temp and precipitation probability displayed on the same graph simultaneously.
