You say “lobby”, I say “bribe”
You say “lobby”, I say “bribe”
Well, he is a dickhead
What will we use all that land for if not shooting grouse? You already banned fox hunting, so can’t use it for that. Badger baiting maybe? That’s still legal. Maybe we could fill it with horses and whip them? I’d say we could breed a bunch of dogs with breathing problems and watch them suffer, but there’s not much blood there. How is a member of the aristocracy supposed to do animal cruelty these days? It’s like they’re trying force us to have “empathy” or whatever the plebs call it.
I can’t believe Americans would go for that after hearing how trump ran his businesses.
Millennial here, not a fan. Like, I’ll drink it if I’m outside and freezing cold, but otherwise I’d rather just have a water.
I don’t dislike tea, but I don’t love it either. Just don’t really see the point, I don’t need the caffeine.
Years ago I did drink tea, (but mostly cos everyone else was) but it was never typhoo. Never even tried it. Yorkshire gold was my brand.
Yeah, the article doesn’t say “loads of”, just “scores of journalists”, so at least 40
I was having some terrible trouble with slugs on my courgettes this year until a family of hedgehogs moved to the area, hadn’t seen any since I moved here a couple years back but suddenly there were multiple reports of hedgehog sightings by myself and the neighbours. And yeah sure enough within a couple of weeks the slug population had pretty much gone.
Article says “scores” of journalists went on strike, I guess that’s what they mean by that. “Scores” is a bit of a loaded term imo, it sounds like loads but a score is only 20
“probably underpaid and overworked worker makes spelling mistake” another amazing article from the BBC
RIP coconut milk.
Funny that before oats and soy started gaining in popularity they had no problems with coconut milk.
I never suggested making a dog or cat vegan.
This is ridiculous, it’s not OK to advertise crumpets but Carling and Paddy Power is fine?
Banning animal slavery? Please!
So, I’ve been doing the vegan thing for about 5 years now (yes I just had to tell you about it), and one thing that I still struggle with morally is pet ownership. If a cat needed rescuing because they were previously captive and now don’t have a home, then sure, I guess, but then I wonder like, how much am I, even by way of rescuing a cat, just going back to contributing the barbaric meat industry? (Not contributing to it was arguably the point of going vegan) How many cows/chicken/sheep/fish need to die to keep this cat alive? And why do I value this cat so much more highly than all those other animals?
Is pet ownership animal exploitation/slavery? I don’t really know. If we’re talking about a horse where you ride around on its back and hit it with whips I’d argue definitely yes, but like, a dog or a cat? I dunno.
I do love dogs and cats though and feel that our experiences on this planet are very much enriched by them being around, so I’m certainly not advocating for a ban on pet ownership, not right now anyway.
Maybe I should be posting this in a philosophy sub.
They see younger generations using less milk and this is their tantrum.
Meat industry does this too, but aren’t as successful most of the time.
I didn’t know the BBC was reporting on conversations in Facebook groups now. Hard-hitting journalism as always.
Former, they had a change of heart and got rid of their guns. Still, would rather be be stuck in a nation of convicts than a nation of relious zealots, at least the convicts know how to have fun.
I hope he’s got people on this who he likes and isn’t going to fuck with his art, Alan really doesn’t like that.
Elon and his musk need to get in the bin
So the IAU are a bunch of gatekeepers? Fuck them and their traditions. Moony McMoonface it is.
Historically they pretended they were socialists.
