Some of these could use “Nightdive” treatment like TimeSplitters trilogy.

Simple a PC version of the game with support for latest hardware and operating systems and support for LAN or self hostable multiplayer would give these games new life among people not interested in modern multiplayer games.

Well since they were/are hosting Mastodon instance they do seem to have some interest in the fediverse. They do also have official plugins.

Personally I feel something like this could be the next step for social link aggregation and discussion platforms. Being able to share and discuss on about videos and articles without having to register to dozens or more pages while also having some control over the people you interract with through instances, subscribed communities etc.

Source media would also be unable to control what can or cannot be discussed. Many youtube videos and news articles for example may block all comments. It would be up to community on how to moderate discussion.

Lemmy support would be much more fitting for Mozilla. They could add plugin or lemmy integration to their browser that could show discussions from subscribed communities matching the current url.

Effectively acting as a “comment section” but for any page. One would only need lemmy account to comment on youtube videos, news articles, blogs etc.

If you want to make a fan game, make spiritual sequel instead.

Nintendo can’t do much about games that are very similar to Mario, Zelda or Pokemon for as long as they do not copy any assets, (some) names or levels from those games. Based on the videos the main character is unique but most if not all the other art assets are direct copies from the original game.

It’s all fun and games until said system is used against you either by hackers, insider with mallicious intent or the goverment.
Albeit said A.I systems could also be used to get rid of billionares by simply exposing tax loopholes, tracking illegal transactions and by finding answers from any leaked data which will be more plentiful when such systems gets in to place.

There are already automated kiosks selling Pizza here and most fast food places already allow people to order using their phone or self-service kiosks.

Delivery is also quickly getting automated with small delivery robots that can likely be remote controlled if they get stuck.

While LLMs cannot reason they can imitate which can be combined with more traditional A.I like utility A.I that makes decisions based on a scoring system. I am guessing LLMs will just be used to make A.I systems talk and execute actions while the actual “inteligence” will be handled through more traditional methods.

As software developer I am not scared that A.I will take away our jobs. What I am scared is that at that point A.I good enough to do most jobs out there.

All it really needs to do is replace large chunk of the service industry to wreck massive havock in our society.

The thing is that generative A.I is not really a new thing, secondly the question is not whether the technology will be transformative rather than if the investors can be patient enough to see that.

When it comes to AGI generative A.I is probably part of it but I would guess we need breakthrough or two from other areas as well which could happen in next 5 years or take a decade or two.

Many games already do this and I would like to give honorary mention to NeocoreGames who have done this to their Van Helsing and most recently with Warhammer Inquisitor. Latter one just recently got offline support with all past seasons playable.

I dont think its unreasonable to require even live services or mmos to have robust end-of-life plan that quarantees customers that the game will remain playable in some form or another.

Well Reddit should just sue these companies and see if these companies are actually breaking any laws. Holding sizeable chunk of the internet hostage also sounds like something the EU and US might want to look in to as it very much sounds like anti-competitive conduct or market manipulation.

Also if these companies want to have greater ownership over the content generated by their users they should also be much more liable for the content posted to their sites. I mean when something like the Section 230 was written they probably did not take this in to account. If these companies want to start selling user generated content then they should simply lose the immunity from liability.

They’ve probably spend a lot of budget to make the combat in this game this fluid. However as a side effect the game has become even more of an action game with leveling and loot shoveled in than before. I just hope Bioware can pull off at least some level of build diversity with different classes, skills, items and abilities so that there will be at least some depth with character progression.

Gameplay looks fine but also very similar to most triple-A action games on the market. Combat is fluid and cinematic meaning you can probably pull off all sorts of combos by mashing light and heavy attack buttons then do bunch of acrobatic moves to dodge any enemy attacks. You can probably also counter attacks execute all sorts of cool cinematic takedowns with single button or QTE.

But this often means that the combat lacks any sort of meaningful weight, emergent gameplay is non-existent and actual player choice is very limited and thightly controlled by what the game and level designers allow.

The trailer makes my eyes hurt so it’s a definate skip for me.

I mean the whole thing seemed to be animated exclusively with 3s or 4s which to me looks like the characters are micro-warping around instead of moving. When watching In to the Spiderverse and LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS (SUITS) I literally had to take breaks and watch elsewhere so rest my eyes and this looks a lot worse.

Was about to comment about the developers probably had to meet some diversity quota but the “hero shooter cast” sounds even more descriptive. Personally don’t really mind much if the gameplay is good and the game is free of the usual triple-a monetization shenigans.

But in a post Baldurs gate 3 world Bioware will need to work extra hard to meet the increased expectations.

Looks like more doom which is all right in my book. Now If they can keep out the always online and live service bullshit out of this one and focus on single player it might turn out to be yet another good doom game. Not sure about the dragon and mecha though, I would rather not have any vehicles, mounts and anything like that in Doom games.

Well hopefully your population is intelligent enough to see through the lies after the populists take in to office. It’s usually when their incompetence shines right through as they’ll just start making excuses and keep blaming the opposition for their failures. It’s also the point where they usually start breaking most of the promises they made during the elections or while they where in the opposition.

The French also have history of not so peaceful protests so the people in the ivory towers need to take that in to account.

The cutscenes hurt my eyes with the frame rate but the gameplay looks alright.

Honestly not fan of the the way some 3d animations animate with 2s/3s to create fake stop motion videos. It’s even worse when they try to make it look like a cartoon/anime and completely forget to add any smear frames that make the these animations look a lot smoother than they actually are. For me these look like characters constantly warping around instead of moving which hurst my eyes, luckily it seems to only affect the characters and not the movement camera.

The gameplay looks alright but very unoriginal, there’s seems to be this basic combat with dodging, light and heavy strikes and then these fly using streams of wind/magic/energy and energy hook-shot to get you exactly where developers want you to go. Maybe the theme, story and visuals will be enough to make this shine above the competition.

Sad but honestly not surprising.

There’s so much polarization going on left and right so its only matter of time before something like this happens.
Add in year after year of austerity measures and Income inequality and some people become desperate and very vulnerable to extreme views.

If its a single player focused with no (or very minimal) live service bullshit then great.
If not then well there’s bunch of indie or classic boomer shooters I’ve not yet tried that are just that.

This is only to be expected after politicians have applied new austerity measures year after year.
Peacefull protests seem to have no effect on goverments and a lot of people are just looking for someone/something to blame for all the problems in the world.
