People rarely fall in love immediately. While love at first sight does happen, it‘s not the norm. Relationships build over time. You start with mutual interest, try to build a friendship and eventually it might click. If you bail before giving it a real chance, then of course, it’s unlikely you’ll build a deep connection with anyone.
As a German, I am pissed about the way we try to get carbon neutral. Shutting off the nuclear plants before the coal plants was just plain stupid and primarily motivated by unjustified fear and that sweet sweet coal lobby money. And now our energy is still expensive af and still dirty and will be for a while.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that there’s more and more focus on renewables and that they make up a sizeable and growing percentage of our energy supply but it’s pretty clear that that’s not enough or at least not fast enough.
Yea. Someone higher up at PlayStation (I forgot who, might have been the CEO) recently said that they believe PC gamers would buy PlayStations to play exclusive sequels to their PC games (like Horizon Forbidden west, which is not yet on PC). Forcing PSN accounts for their games on PC opens the door to getting a PlayStation just a little bit further.

The 970 works for encoding h.264 only. My recommendation: If you have a 7th Gen Intel CPU with iGPU or later, use that. Otherwise, sell the 970 and get one of these (in this order):
The Intel Card has the best encoder, followed by Nvidia Turing, then Pascal. I recently sold my 970 and got a 1050 Ti for the same price. Works great with Jellyfin. If you need to tone map HDR, you probably shouldn’t get anything with much lower performance than that. If it’s just some UHD to HD or h.265 to h.264 for compatibility, even the P400 will work well.
A few reasons.
For one, storing multiple versions of the same film takes up a lot of storage, which is more expensive than a cheap 40€ gpu for transcoding. And I definitely wanna keep the highest quality I can. Besides transcoding on the fly is more flexible, ensuring the best possible quality at any time, instead of having to pick between the good and the shit version.
And secondly, usually I only need transcoding when I don’t watch on my home setup (or when some friends watch on my server). My upload isn’t as high as some of my film’s bitrates and some clients do not support h.265 or HDR thus needing transcoding and/or tonemapping.

It’s a bit more complicated than that. Here in Germany, while abortions are illegal (since fetuses are considered humans by law), it is decriminalized. It’s more about technicalities. You do have the choice though. It’s not as easy as going to an abortion clinic and half an hour later you’re done but if you got pregnant on accident (or by force) or have a medical need for abortion, there’s always a way. If it was just an accident, however, you do have to pay for the abortion yourself, unless you can’t afford it. Also, there is a mandatory counseling session.
Which is fair, I suppose, if you really only have one SATA port left. Then a RAID 1 through that device might work well enough. Wouldn’t be my first choice though… and definitely not for RAID 0. Not that RAID 0 should be anyone’s first choice, nowadays.

And still, even here in Germany, people played victim, the perpetrators just weren’t the people who “freed” us. Yea but like, then why bother with android at all? KaiOS seems to do everything you‘d want it to do, if you’re looking for a device that small. Or really just a standalone smartwatch.
When I talk about small phones, I want a phone without compromise (besides maybe battery). I want to be able to use any app, consume content, communicate via mail or chat apps on a useably sized keyboard, etc. I just want it to be below 6“ (Or rather around 5“ considering modern borderless designs). I loved the 4“ iPhone sizes and I love my 5.4“ iPhone 13 mini. Wouldn’t really want a phone bigger than those 5.4“ and also wouldn’t really want a device much smaller in footprint than the old 4“ iphones.
Yea and also their screens are comically small. The Jelly‘s 3“ are barely useable… I want sub 6“ not sub 4“…
And so did android manufacturers. The last small-ish Android phone, the Asus Zenfone is now also ginormous in its latest revision…
Like, below 6“ there’s the ZenFone 10, the iPhone 13 mini (both not current gen but still up to date), the Sony Xperia 10 IV (the V is above 6“), and a bunch of rugged phones (that aren’t exactly small either) and a few cheap af phones that are exactly 6"

It might help being up front about that to potential partners, be it on an app or on a real life date. It sets the expectations right. And while most people are indeed sexual, there are still a lot who aren’t. You aren’t the only person on the ace spectrum that likes companionship. I’ve even met people who are aromantic and asexual and still have something you could probably consider a relationship, even if there are neither romantic nor sexual feelings involved. There’s a lid for everyone, you just have to meet someone who gets you.
