  • Control is on my backlog list. Thanks for the writeup. Now I know what to expect.

Using cheats for 1 player offline games is 100% OK in my book. I am an adult with so much responsabilties and little time to game. Sitting for 2 hours frustrated on something and not progressing is just not my idea of fun. Nudging yourself through with the help of cheats, easy mode or anything else is totally valid.

I have done this with a few games. Disgaea games come to mind… I know most of the enjoyment of those games comes from the grind to level up and get stronger to then grind some more… But I just couldn’t make myself fight the same level 25 times to earn enough XP to upgrade so I memory edited the values just enough to simulate me grinding for 2 hours in 5 minutes. Not enough to break the game but enough to get me through the grindy parts.

And any offline 1 player game that tries that shit will get memory edited right away.

Of course I will always try to do it the intended way, as long as it’s not annoying to me.

  • I see all of these actions by the government to address and reverse the population decline but they seem so insignificant and half assed.

This is a very serious issue for a society and it has the potential to get worse in a geometric decline fashion, making it very time sensitive.

Actions that may help today will be useless on the near future… I think governments are not giving this issue the seriousness it deserves and are acting way too slow. By the time they realize this it may too late. They may be obligated to do some very uncomfortable containment actions.

If you do not see an emulator in the list above, it is likely installed as a Retroarch core.!<

  • I guess this is going to be like when flights get oversold. They will start offering $. But then as the flight nears take off they offer $$$ then a few minutes before $$$$$$ +free flight + dinner + hotel +…

It may be too late by then. Declining population problems are not lineal but geometric in growth (or decline) so increasing incentives later on, even if effective may be too late to stop the decline. This is a much more serious issue than most people believe. And it is also quite time sensitive.

  • I have a water container I need to take care of in my house. An ultrasonic sensor hooked to my raspberry 3b uploads the collected data to my vps that later serves an html through Flask to show the water level. It has a few alarms so that I can take action at the appropriate time. The ultrasonic sensors HC-SR04 suck and I have to replace them quite frequently. Other then that it works really well.
