GW2 has a huge cash shop of cosmetics, to the point you can barely get any by just playing.
Who was their previous partner/co-owner?
Well, at least the rumors will stop now. Absolutely nothing burguer of a video though.
There’s also the rumor they are exiting the console business, which is probably what is making people anxious.
Although the movie was well received, It didn’t make a lot of money.
Honestly, if they buy the IP and hand it over to Larian to make games, it’s a big win for everyone that wants DnD RPGs.
When are we getting cracked versions of gacha games so we can just do the story?
Because having a low barrier of entry and smurfing is part of the business strategies of these sort of games.
I agree, they have no reason to allow it, specially to their biggest rival.
If this is more than just PR for regulators, then they’ll probably exit the console market.
I wonder if Sony would allow gamepass in their ecosystem. That said, if this is true then we are likely to see Microsoft leave the console hardware market.
If Sony brings Demons souls remake to pc then I’ll agree with you. I’m still holding out for that one.
Did you play on PC? Is the performance acceptable now?
People don’t associate Fortnite with that due to the main game being just pvp instanced deathmatches. But it is, by far, the most comprehensive example of what a corporate * metaverse would look like, specially now that they have their creative mode or whatever it’s called.
*I know something like VR Chat or your favorite MMO with housing is closer to what people would want or imagine the metaverse to be, but that’s not what the buzzword is for the suits.
That feeling ia not at all uncommon. There’s a reason many mmos and even long TV series tend to pull the “now there is an even bigger big bad!”. Just look at WoW, there’s no shortage of people that didn’t enjoy dragonflight due to the lower stakes.
I don’t expect Microsoft to put time and effort into something like that unless they plan to make an Xbox portable of their own.
They do mention they’ll have a higher overhead due to the licensing, although if that is because of money going to ncsoft is anyone’s guess.
This was very unexpected. I wonder how much NCSoft is getting out of it.
Just an anecdote, but on the ffxiv subreddit and discords I lurk around there have been a LOT of xbox players going through the free trial for the first time. Considering you can play a lot for free and the series S being somewhat cheap, I can see this being a fair boon to the game.
