  • Ya. That black server fan in the frig is very common for the model of frig…also the little white resistance sensor on the coil tends to fall off of the tube sometimes causing it to defrost poorly. I like to swap them out when I’m doing the fan as a prophylactic.

The reason they use that fan is because it’s super quiet and voltage can be regulated to it for different spin speeds which I turn is supposed to save energy.

The issue with the fan in and of itself is that it’s inherently an aftermarket fan produced by an aftermarket manufacturer for GE. It’s just junk.

  • So the article or at least the title is stating that she’s raising her rapists baby. I understood the title to be derogatory towards the child like it’s some kind of burden to raise your child. Which in many senses it can be. But it’s not the child’s fault, especially since it’s already born that it was conceived during a rape. That child shouldn’t be held responsible for that event. That’s what I meant.

I’m certainly not advocating against abortion, nor am I stating that a fetus is a human.

Granted it has the potential for life or to become a human being at some point. But other than that I don’t see how you could have taken my statement to mean what you said it does.

  • There are two primary systems of law in the United States that absolutely must be reformed above any other branch or law.

    Immigration and criminal justice.

These systems in the United States are archaic third world and downright discriminatory to anybody that goes through them.

    They are truly terrible.

The fact that we even have such systems in place in the United States is mind-boggling.

Other countries look at us and simply call us barbarians.

  • Bail is an option for the courts to use to insure someone that might be a certain level of flight risk shown up to court.

It’s not 100% necessity. People can be released on their own bond commonly referred to as a “personal bond” they don’t pay anything and just promise to show up.

Has this bond system been abused as a form of oppression. Of course. We’re human after all and there are corrupt shitty judges on the bench.

But for the most part the bond system does function.

  • This is a very good question.

I’m assuming you mean a range around $5000?

In that case there’s really not much in that specific price range.

Ranges in general can cost between 500 and 3000 dollars for a regular range you can get at your local appliance retailer. Here in the states that would be like home Depot or Lowe’s.

If you wanted more high end than that you’d have to go much higher up in price. Like past $10000. It’s a weird market for ranges.

I recommend Frigidaire for cooking appliances in general they make really good ranges. For less than $1000 dollars you can get a very decent appliance.

  • So let’s just address the meta here real quick. There was a comment on Lemmy to which I responded. In context the genesis of this comment is in reference to Ubisoft and the general state of inclusion politics in gaming today.

You are questioning the fundamental motivation as to why I have an opinion on the subject matter that is presented to me under the protest that “it’s just a game”.

I mean why even have an opinion? Why formulate thoughts? Why have any kind of discussions?

I am abreast of what is happening generally in gaming and the industry surrounding it because I’m interested in these things. I like playing video games.

I also have other interests. For example, I’m fairly good at playing the guitar, so there’s a lot of content in my social media about guitars and music.

I also find it entertaining to watch flat Earth debunking videos on YouTube to pass the time.

The reason I care about assassin’s Creed in particular is because I’ve been playing the game since the very first one. I like the franchise. I like the video games and watching it get ruined because of inclusion politics is heartbreaking.

Moreover, they already have the game. It’s already been made. Therefore I have the right to criticize it. Simply stating “it’s just a game” isn’t helpful.

I don’t care if there’s black people or women or LGBT people in video games. I could absolutely care less about that as long as it’s relevant to the game. If they’re just including it to be inclusive, then it’s a meaningless gesture. It brings down the game. It brings down the IP and it brings down the company that does it.

Furthermore, people play video games for a reason. Either it be escapism or immersion or simply to pass a small amount of time till whatever else they have to do. Seeing these inconsistencies in the game breaks that immersion it no longer becomes entertainment. It becomes a political statement which I have very little interest in when it comes to my entertainment.

You can pretend to be on your high horse all you want. I have no interest in seeing inclusion politics in my entertainment. It serves no beneficial purpose except to elevate the egos of people like you to make you feel as though something is being included.

    Pure nonsense.

Also the new Star wars game which I don’t even remember the name of sucked universally. It didn’t make any money because people didn’t have any interest in it specifically and exclusively because of the inclusion politics added into the game. Also the main character is fucking ugly.
