I don’t get the blame for “journalists” here. These are media outlets run by big corpos who knows they’ll control the narrative. Can we uplift quality journalism that is also not filled with bought and paid for journalists and media. If you don’t like CNN stop listening to it 25/8. Same for Fox, et al. The complaints about the media sound like boomer ramblings but I seem to hear it most often from millennials. Like, who the fuck else you relying on to know what’s going on in the world?
The world needs to carve a Russian sized hole in the internet. it would be best for all of us.
I know it’s just the the internet but I remember when this guy was first elected this was the direction Indians commenting on politics feared. He’s always been a populist authoritarian. Crazy how far his reach is though.
Russians are pussies. Not like war is popular in any country, but if you’re going to support it at least be willing to commit to it. In America we protested and they haven’t done a draft in over 45 years and we still have plenty of ‘patriots’ still willing to fight our wars. Or just involve some proxy nation. With Russia, it’s either you support it or straight to jail and few Russians have the balls to stand up en masse let alone leave the country.
What?! That effeminate crooner who used to do shows in shimmering outfits and capes?! I’m so confused I don’t know what to think anymore…
Edit: I mean anyone can wear shimmering outfits and be effeminate and not also be gay, but Liberace… I mean come on, it was obvious.
I visit daily for a few of the top stories on r/all and some subreddits like, r/Helldivers, but overall my interest in anything else on that site has soured. It’s not nearly as engaging as it was and the subs that get pushed are just terrible copies of what was great. It’s definitely died before but this is different.
Banning something enjoyable that harms no one and has nil impact on society - just conservative things.
Well, Israel is going to get American support regardless who the president is. Trump is just as likely, without any qualms on rhetoric, to send US weapons and money and maybe even troops to the mid east, but first he’ll send them to the American south west to create his own ‘Gaza’ in southern California. So, it looks like America is in for another war in the middle east. Which is another big win for Russia, keeping us tied up there.
My guess is Scandinavians also find ready access to public urinals. In Mississippi this would be a wholly unthinkable expenditure of govt tax funds which are already allocated to a for-profit prison, probably. Mississippi is a third-world state.
ok but I get the finger trap on Fridays and every other weekend.
I’ve been saying this for awhile now. It’s the only reason he made that very public offer at the specific price he put out. He knew he couldn’t back out. He knew the line he was crossing so it wasn’t a spur of the moment purchase. He got Larry Ellison and a Saudi Investor involved. They didn’t all have the same crazy idea. These guys know they’re on the hook to the bank for whatever but between the 3 of them they’ll cover the losses and this big hub of rumor/news sharing will die. and they can stay mostly unharmed.
I just want to add he’s used tweets to manipulate stock prices before and it put the SEC on his ass. He’s familiar with how making public announcements like that can come across to the law at that point. Even though he wasn’t punished he knew where he the line was drawn well before he “impulsively” crossed it. Twitter was a haven for actual journalism and journalists who live by ethics knowing damn well the consequences for libel and slander. The stories they pushed had a massive influence on undoing his image and it keeps going. Same with his Saudi co investor and Larry Ellison. These guys all know what it was really worth.
Exactly the same for me. Never saw any particular party as one worth affiliation with my voting choices though I do end up voting for Democrat backed choices most often.
