  • Yeah, here too

We moved to this apartment quite some years ago. The first two years we absolutely weren’t expecting anyone, because in our country/city it’s quite unusual for children to go ‘trick or treat’-ing

At least in the second year I managed to have some things and just gave all the sweets away we had fire ourselves.

This year, I was really looking forward to it.
TV said Halloween costumes were sold 3 times more than last years and I prepared with a nice mix of sweets.

    Absolutely no one showed up…

Ok, were in a housing complex with many assistants and usually kids go to houses and not flats.
Still, was a bit of a bummer

Well, at least I’ve got some sweets now…

  • I was growing up with my grandparents, who still had a few pigs, chickens and I always had cats. I was always outside and in the forest, but I’m still allergic to pollen of grass, flowers and trees, also surprisingly to cats and dogs - and, which is more shit - to bees, wasps etc…

Although from young on I just ignored the allergy regarding cats and dogs. Now I’m still having a cat (a rescue, who lives in my apartment) and besides some heavier reaction to scratches, I don’t have any problem with cuddles and sleeping in bed with him.

I think my overly concerned mother (young single mother) just went to the doctor with every little thing I had, and all the antibiotics I’ve got, have fucked up my immune system.

With the pollen thing I’ve got syringes as a child, so at least I got rid of the allergic asthma. And the older I get, the better it seems to get.

But with cats and dogs, I was just stubborn and it seems it worked out ;-)

Still, I was always outside playing in the dirt and still got a shitload of allergies…

  • Maybe instead of 1-dimensional number scales, we should move to something like 4 quadrants, where different movie qualities are represented?

Because rating a movie isn’t just like shit - meh - ok - great, but should be much more detailed.
This could represent something like how well it was done in different scales in one view, and I can choose what matches my mood.
Really good rated movies are sometimes also hard to follow/process, and a movie with a light mood won’t get those good ratings, but would still be exactly the thing I’m currently looking for.

So, I haven’t really thought this through, but if we create a more dimensional rating system, it would be maybe easier to find, what I’m really looking for.

This is more or less a shower thought, but I really think, that the problem lies in the one dimensional rating system, which cannot represent the multitude of experiences I want from a movie

Yeah, an ex of mine told me the story of a “friend”, who put a tent up on a festival with a sign reading “long haired men fuck for free”

There was a fucking line outside the tent

So yeah, why not, if it’s consensual.
Still, the hygienics are probably questionable…
