This is fucking hilarious, best news I’ve heard in forever.
Hi there!
This is fucking hilarious, best news I’ve heard in forever.
I’m always annoyed when people say “You should just get therapy”, because of how completely inaccessible it is to those of us not wealthy enough to be in the upper middle class, which is most of us these days.
They’re basically saying “Your problems are fixable but only if you’ve got thousands of pounds to throw away on a therapist, if you’re a normal working class person you’re fecked”.
You might as well be saying “Homeless? Just buy a house duuh”.
I know you yourself mean well (and you do use the “practical” caveat which is appreciated), I don’t mean to sound overly harsh, it’s just this comes up a lot and as someone suffering greatly from mental illness destroying my life that I can’t afford to get treatment for it’s very depressing :-(
Is IPFS something your family and friends check on regularly? I don’t even know what it is.
Considering your reluctance to give any information about your assertion that such a project using it becomes useless, I’m not sure you know what it is either :P
Damn, you had a shot at Attorney General?
I keep reading it as Mark Gatiss and thinking Huh, strange choice but he seems a decent bloke
Probably the Tories
How is it gonna nag me to upgrade to Windows 11 when I don’t have a TPM?
I’d love to upgrade, the system is completely capable of running it, but because it doesn’t have a useless bit of hardware I can’t. Fuck em.
I still don’t know who it is, but I’d imagine it’s an American bloke, probably famous for something recently over there.
I’m sorry, but at 15 you’re old enough to know that stabbing a stranger to death is wrong.
Yes? What do you think they’re implying, that we should try to rehabilitate criminals… but only if they’re still young?
I think (and forgive me if I’m wrong) they’re essentially saying that without a rehabilitory justice system, we’re just locking people up for life and creating a net drain on society. Financially, culturally… it’s a morale drain on our nation, even.
Not to mention that as a society we’re abandoning a person who, through a justice system built on rehabilitation and not some ye oldie Catholic concept of creating a punishing Hell on Earth, could actually flourish one day, adding to our society instead of taking from it.
A prison system designed to simply incarcerate, punish and torture those it touches will never offer anywhere near the same benefits to us as one that is designed to attempt to rehabilitate.
Not everybody can be rehabilitated, of course, but that’s like saying we shouldn’t try to treat cancer, because not everybody can be cured.
Good thing the “Feds” have zero jurisdiction in my country then. Feck em.
I’m guessing this is a repost bot or such?
Ah yes, technology videos are really bad. Especially that Technology Connections guy, he’s the absolute worst.
And don’t even get me started on technology video reviews, tutorials, guides, educational materials and tech news. I only consume technology information in newspaper form. This new video thing just won’t catch on.
Okay, so… leave then, if you hate it so much?
Or are you lying and you actually love it, hmm Orby?
Well, I have no First Amendment rights, so there’s that.
Okay but what about the image cast on our retinas through our eyeballs that we use to see?
Those are imperfect imitations of reality also. What’s their stance on those images…
Thing is, that’s exactly how you do it as a capitalist.
Compartmentalise your businesses and ensure they’re registered so as to never come after your personal assets should they go bust.
Then, if the business fails and goes bust, shut it down, sack everyone, and a week later reopen in the same place with a slightly different name and rehire most of the same staff under the new company.
The new company is not in any way legally connected to the old one, and the one one’s debts are to be handled whatever administration firm took all that over, etc.
I’ve seen it happen first hand here in the UK, good example of why capitalists are scumbags that are above our laws.
This is such a David thing to say, ho ho, you japester!
Check out Ludwig on iPlayer it’s a good watch! David Mitchell in some light, witty modern day Poirot detectiveing.
I’ve been binge watching the fever dreams (⊙ᴗ⊙)
I’m mostly worried about my mother, I caught it from my father (somehow, after seeing him like once last week in passing) and even though he isolated from her once he knew he had it, she tested positive yesterday too, …and she’s due to go on her first big trip abroad in her ENTIRE LIFE in like 4 days to Paris (we’re a bit lower class haha), supposed to be a big special once in a lifetime treat from her daughter, planned it for a year now :-(
First time any of us have caught it too, my father is in the high risk category (twice over) so we’ve generally been careful this whole time, and we’ve been getting the boosters (ironically this year’s booster became available TODAY) but ya know it was going to happen eventually…
But enough of my story of extremely bad timing, glad to hear you recovered without and lasting negative effects :-)
Given the batshit crazy other people that seem to be put into the other positions… I assume this guy doesn’t believe in money and thinks they should instead switch to a system where basic necessities and housing are provided by your employer, and everything else must be earned through hard work and a points system at your company and government run stores… right?
Or is it even crazier than that 😅
