Back in my home country, we exclusively called them pickups. “Truck” was used for anything from box trucks to 18-wheelers. But the passenger vehicles with beds were called pickups, regardless if it was a Maverick or an F150. Took a while for me to adapt to calling them trucks in the US.

My wife opened the door to hand out candy wearing a plague doctor mask. The kids weren’t scared unfortunately, but at least surprised.

It depends. You can expect some level of unintentional misinformation in the immediate aftermath of an incident because of the chaos, panic, and unreliable witnesseses. But that gets sorted out eventually when the smoke clears. That is different from deliberate malicious misinformation that the article is pertaining to.
“free” for me. My job has conference/training budget that is use-it-or-lose-it, so might as well go for it. You can also talk your way through getting swag without giving up your contact details, or just provide fake ones.

The only other type of clothing with clear, visible branding I own aside from band shirts is tech vendor shirts from conferences. But those I get for free, so I didn’t exactly pay to become their billboard.
I’d say hype and seeing Hugh Jackman again was what carried D&W, not really the storytelling. When you peel away the character hype and humor, the story was actually pretty bland.
