Not a protector per se, but I put this cover on my iPad that makes it feel like paper when you write on it. The cover magnetically attaches so I can put it on and take it off as needed.
I’ve had a mid-tier OLED tv the last few months. The colors and contrast look phenomenal to me. You get true black on OLED since each pixel is individually lit.
I watch a lot of horror films which will have many dimly lit or night time scenes. OLED makes those scenes much easier to see because of increased contrast between dark and light.
Sheridan@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What acronyms are you annoyed to see take on other meanings?English23·14 days agoSo many people think Mac is an acronym for whatever reason, as in “Do you use MAC or PC?”.
I don’t know why they think this. It was never formatted that way in any of Apple’s marketing materials.
It really annoys me. In my head when I read it I hear “MAC” pronounced in the voice of Gilbert Godfrey.
I’m guessing they’re confusing it with MAC addresses? They probably saw the term somewhere and wrongly assumed it had something to do with Apple Macs.

Wouldn’t fewer employees needing to take sick time because of cold/covid increase their profits? Outside of businesses that profit from cold/covid, I don’t see what the motivation for businesses would be against this vaccination.

Its iOS app store page says it doesn’t collect any information, so that’s promising. The recent reviews as of version 11 aren’t great; lots of bugs apparently. I might try it nevertheless.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Sheridan@lemmy.worldOPto Privacy@lemmy.world•macOS + iOS browser recommendations?English2·2 months agoWhile the rendering engine (WebKit) is the same across iOS browsers, WebKit is an open source project. To my knowledge there isn’t any telemetry baked into WebKit that reports back to Apple or whomever about user identity or behavior; tracking would have to be added by the developers making use of WebKit for their browser, I think? So in terms of privacy, it should make a difference which iOS you select.

It’s an Australian tv show that had two seasons. It’s a surreal, screwball comedy about a ragtag team whose mission every episode is to kill Hitler.
If you want to see a TV show that has Nazis, dinosaurs, cigarette commercials, and a talking bald Eagle, then this is your show.
I think this meme is referring to when Apple ripped out 32bit support in macOS a few years ago. I couldn’t use Wine anymore to play old windows games on my Mac after that update for example.

It’s really hard for me to name a single favorite Metroid; I love most of them. In terms of non-linear open exploration, Super Metroid is probably my favorite, followed by AM2R. But I also really enjoyed the boss fights in Metroid Dread; they were really challenging…for me at least.

They’re very easy to install. It’s almost as easy as installing a shower head.
There are also compact battery powered portable handheld bidets that work about as well as the real thing. I have one I take with me on trips.
