    From my understanding Japan is still doing better when adjusted for inflation, also us Germans simply love to complain. Doing better than anyone, let alone Japan does not fit our narrative that we uphold since early 2020. If anything this is bad news for us because we even fail at being rightfully pessimistic. We truly are the worst.

      I mean, we are rightfully pessimistic. Decades worth of investment in infrastructure and future proofing our industry and economy are missing, because we run the country like a business, and spending money = bad. And we are finally starting to feel the consequences of that, the fact that our GDP is still pretty good is just evidence that it is a wholly unsuitable metric to measure the wellbeing of a country
