Yeah that was always the dumbest “trick” to pop up every couple weeks on reddit to then also have the top quote be, “it only works with easy numbers though.”

I figured out why this is the case but only after I checked it on a calculator.
It’s me, I am the problem.
0.250.5=0.5
¼ / ½ = ¼ • 2 = 2/4 = ½
This is the reason why people should learn fractions

Well, yeah, dividing something by 0.5 is the same thing as multiplying it by 2…
