U.S. President Donald Trump will impose 25% tariff on most Canadian imports beginning Tuesday

B.C. Premier David Eby has announced immediate countermeasures in response to incoming U.S. tariffs, saying the province will take action to protect B.C. workers and businesses.

. . .

As an initial response, Eby said he has directed the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch to immediately stop purchasing American liquor from Republican-led “red states” and remove the top-selling brands from public liquor store shelves.

He also directed the B.C. government and Crown corporations to prioritize Canadian goods and services in procurement decisions.

“The Americans are bigger, but if we don’t stand up for ourselves, they will just keep coming back for more,” he said.

Should just sell a bottle or two of each and raise the prices by 2x. At least the Liquour stores can still make money off of it but still hurt the supplier

As an American in a red state (by no fucking choice, I promise you) it would really suck for even more business to leave our state because they can’t sell their wares because of where they’re based… But it’s exactly what needs to happen. Fuck this state. Fuck the Republicans. Fuck any business, any organization that willingly backs this shit. Boycott us, and it’s gonna suck, but it needs to be done. Money and bullets are the only things these people understand, and bullets aren’t a safe route to take.

Boycott America. I was already going for a low buy year, now it is a no buy America and low buy everything else this year.

I’m definitely going to be voting NDP where possible for the indefinite future. It used to be “but they have no real experience governing!” Well, now they do, and they’ve done a whole lot better than both the Liberals and the Conservatives.

It kind of funny that now since the liberal party is no more in BC, technically the conservative party has no experience governing.
