this is not a federal issue.

like, how can this EO have any effect on your local community softball league?

      It’s in the second paragraph:

The order, titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” gives federal agencies wide latitude to ensure entities that receive federal funding abide by Title IX in alignment with the Trump administration’s view, which interprets “sex” as the gender someone was assigned at birth.

You have a lot more faith in what tatters are going to be left of our Democratic institutions in four years than I do my friend. I don’t know that we’ll ever get to vote for another President ever again.

We’ll probably get to “vote” in the same way Russians get to “vote”. You know, 90% turnout, 90% of that for the “correct” party…

No it fucking isn’t. It’s an invented issue based on poor understanding of transition and sexist, hateful, misogynistic garbage.

Completely agree. How the left can try and defend that shit is insane to me. Shouldn’t have even been a problem in the first place frankly.

It wasn’t a real issue. Like many of the Republican talking points, they invent an idea, fond accidental evidence or things that have already been disproven and ignore the facts while they find some fucking stooges, usually people that leave lost the respect of their field (disbarred lawyers, doctors with revoked licenses, etc.), but that appear to have credibility to an outsider, so that they can leverage that public ignorance to push the idea as widely as possible until their followers pick it up like it’s a real thing and never do any actual research beyond the sanctioned outlets they control.

          it wasn’t a real issue

I find it fascinating how the left is the “party for women” unless you’re a biological woman and then you can step aside while we let this guy who wasn’t even top 20 in the equivalent men’s sport dominant your field so you lose out on trophies, awards, opportunities and possibly ruin their lifelong dreams.

          https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/trans-athletes-steal-wins-from-biological-females-lia-thomas/

I don’t think the people that cannot define what a woman is should be allowed to make the rules on who can participate in women’s sports.

Almost all “Male leagues” don’t actually have any rules preventing women from participating. Women just cannot compete with the top male athletes. Which is the entire reason the women’s leagues were made. So that men couldn’t just hog the top spots in all sports forever. It was to give women their own fair competition. By allowing men to enter that field you have taken away what was supposed to be a fair women’s space.

I’m sorry you seem to assume that I actually give a fuck what your thoughts on the topic are. You’ve already shown you trust political talking points, so you clearly aren’t doing your own deep research from trustworthy sources.

Given your comments and a quick history check, you seem like one of those people that just trusted claims during the recent Olympics that Imane Khelif was trans at face value, when every single bit of evidence proved that wrong.

On top of that, linking a conservative site with the most generic propagandized name doesn’t help credibility. It could be an accurate article, but no one is going to bother because you chose a shit source.

I can’t win with you people. I post any link thats center or right and you give that as the reason why it’s all nonsense. I give a left leaning source and y’all ban me from the sub and delete my comments (not you specifically but still).

I actually defended Imane when that all went down because it didn’t make any sense to me. I did briefly have doubts when an alleged medical record surfaced but it was from one random French doctor with zero corroboration so I ignored it. But yeah just keep assuming things about me.

Every time one of you guys makes assumptions about me they are wildly incorrect and it’s always funny to me. You do your little stalking session and downvote all the comments I’ve made recently and then you come back and make a bunch of assumptions about me as a person.

              Have a good night.

It is a real issue because records are kept in sports scholarships and contracts are given out based on those records. You probably cant see the whole picture from down in your basement though

Oh I totally can, I just don’t think that’s a federal issue. And I definitely don’t think that those in power are pushing changes to help in any way. It’s clear they don’t actually give a shit given all the rest of their rhetoric effectively saying trans people aren’t real people.

Also agree. It’s either do this or get rid of sports that exclude specific genders to compete.

I hope Riley Gaines develops a vulva itch that can never be soothed so she has to go through the day fighting the urge to scoot across the carpet like a pet with worms. Any place that doesn’t just ignore this should just say fuck it and make one sport for everyone, split by ability.

So glad that our long national nightmare is over.

I wasn’t aware that a President had to set policy on…sports? Aren’t there other people involved? State level rights?

And that phukkin’ photo op, jaysus. Some of those grinning women in there…WTAF.
