  • Nope you got it! Okami by the now shut down Clover Studio. The remaining members from Clover actually founded Platinum Games, the creators of Bayonetta, NieR Automata, and Astral Chain.

Playing Okami you can absolutely feel the essence of their later games in the combat, but the game overall is more Zelda inspired. Absolutely delightful title, I played it and replayed it on the Wii back in the day. There’s an HD remake available as well, sadly the game is still stuck at 30fps due to technical limitations but very worth grabbing on sale.

  • I’m not sure exactly how it works tbh! But this was also one of the findings of the National Weight Control Registry when studying people who successfully lost weight and kept it off.

78% eat breakfast every day. 75% weigh themselves at least once a week. 62% watch less than 10 hours of TV per week. 90% exercise, on average, about 1 hour per day.

    Some more tidbits:

98% of Registry participants report that they modified their food intake in some way to lose weight. 94% increased their physical activity, with the most frequently reported form of activity being walking.

If I had to speculate, my guess is that having breakfast results in a better workout. And then a better workout makes you more likely to comply with your meal plan, which then results in better long term weight results

  • Has happened to me, and also I’ve had the rare opportunity to hear back from someone later. We had a very heated discussion about a very hot topic. Took about 2 hours lol, seemingly zero progress. Agreed to disagree.

A few years pass, we’re still friendly, and they eventually confess to me that I did change their mind that night. Just took them a long time to process it.

Basically I took the same approach as the person who changed my mind, which you have laid out very succinctly,

argue in good faith, don’t try to score points, provide food for thought if you can, and hope for the other person to eventually find their way to the truth.

I came up with some truly stupid things while trying to justify my ridiculous beliefs. Deserved to be made fun of frankly, but this person instead treated me with respect. People are not perfectly rational truth-seeking robots, often just being a jerk is enough to convince them you’re wrong regardless of any other factors.

  • Crosscode! To me it’s the ultimate hidden gem, as I hardly see people talking about it but most of the people who do play it go on to rate it as one of their favorite games. Especially if you like story focussed action-rpgs, I bet you’ll dig it. It’s also got somewhat of a zelda element with puzzles and dungeons
