Why did you feel compelled to give your anecdote, if not to undermine the idea that Nvidia support is not good?
Why did you feel compelled to give your anecdote, if not to undermine the idea that Nvidia support is not good?
You first.
Their policy is to refund games within a specific time period for any reason. Basically you can demo any game in the library. Although I suspect if you did it too often they would glad your account.
I’ve been buying all the new Sony games and then immediately refunding them and posting a bad review because of the PSN bullshit.
Right, so since you had that experience, everyone else must also have it?
Yes you do
I’d argue that maybe it isn’t based on political or religious views
The main argument I see against Lemmy devs is that they’re “tankies”, which is most certainly political. And I agree. Except that there’s nothing in the software itself that is political. Only the devs, and many of the .ml communities and users.
that is the privilege of a list curator.
It can be their privilege and also be censorship. You seem to imply otherwise.
After reading a lot of similar opinions I put it on the “beginner” difficulty level and it’s not very difficult at all. And I am not a talented gamer. So maybe give that a shot and work your way up if you feel the need.
Yep, I agree. Not seen any tools that can do that though. I believe Safari has some randomization built in. But fuck Apple.
Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information. This may be done on the basis that such material is considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or “inconvenient”. Censorship can be conducted by governments and private institutions. When an individual such as an author or other creator engages in censorship of their own works or speech, it is referred to as self-censorship. General censorship occurs in a variety of different media, including speech, books, music, films, and other arts, the press, radio, television, and the Internet for a variety of claimed reasons including national security, to control obscenity, pornography, and hate speech, to protect children or other vulnerable groups, to promote or restrict political or religious views, and to prevent slander and libel.
They are suppressing information about the fediverse based on political views. They had it up and then they took it down. Please explain how this is not censorship. I don’t know where people get the idea that censorship is an inherently negative thing.
Please don’t link to platforms that aren’t publicly visible.
If I’m honest, it’s not convenient either. I stopped using it years ago because I kept getting logged out of my accounts and flagged for “automated activity”. Plus they straight up lie about supporting SMS and RCS. The only “support” they have is connecting it to your Google account.
Theoretically no, all of your messages stored on Beeper servers are encrypted. But they will get all your metadata.
But I wouldn’t worry about that anyway since Discord not only has access to all of your messages but sells them to companies to process for AI. So that’d be the far easier and faster route for them.
Not sure if serious
Not only is it possible, but people are already doing it.
Depends if you consider Signal “popular”, because based on your own link, the only information they provide is:
No message content., Date and time a user registered. Last date of a user’s connectivity to the service.
There’s privacy and then there’s user experience. UX on Matrix is awful. Not to mention Matrix collects all the metadata, and the vast majority of it sits on a single server (matrix.org), which is owned by a private company and subject to subpoenas.
I don’t understand the question. What is “noise”?
The reason it’s so hard is because your browser is telegraphing all sorts of information about your computer to the sites you visit. Some of those things are varying degrees of necessary in order for your browser to function. For example, your time zone is needed in order to show you the correct time for events. There are a hundred of these identifiers. And many nerds like you and me are going to have weird display sizes or use weird browsers or disable certain functions, etc.
If you go to deviceinfo.me, it’s basically a mirror that reflects back at you all the information your browser is feeding it.
Funny enough, not sending info at all can also be used to fingerprint you. That’s why the main strategy for anti-fingerprinting in browsers like TOR is to just send all of the most common info in order to blend in.
Also companies started using “Do Not Track” requests to actually track you.
Half Life required an account at a time no game required accounts
Not disagreeing but it was at least a first-party account and there was a legitimate purpose. PS has none.
A laptop does not support attached controllers for hand-holding. Seems pretty obvious.
I cannot hold my hands in the air indefinitely. Even completely empty my arms will get tired after a few short minutes, much less several hours. My Steam Deck gets held on my lap or on a table or something like that.
OneXPlayer has something similar that I actually considered buying (but ultimately didn’t for several reasons) that includes a keyboard and (laptop) trackpad and a pen. If I can buy 1 device that can do both handheld gaming and also laptop productivity, I can save a whole lot of money…
