So what’s the military got to say about this? Lol not that they can do much. I for one am excited to see Trump give all the current generals nothing to do but plot a rebellion.

Don’t get it twisted, the military can choose to do whatever they want about this, up to and including execution of the full trump administration on day one. They represent the largest portion of the State’s monopoly on force.

What they can do legally is another matter entirely, but we’re well past legal or not at this point.

Most of the military will likely follow the law. Making atrocities lawful is going to happen very quickly after Jan 20th if not sooner from the way things are going right now.

Nobody’s saying it’d be lawful. But personally, were I a military officer, given a choice between doing a thing to save my institution and then falling on my sword, or doing nothing and watching an institution I love get corrupted and turned against the country and oaths its supposed to serve… I imagine I’d pick the former.

It’s very much a catch-22 situation. But at the same time, there’s clearly a less catastrophic (in the long-term) choice available here.

I honestly can’t believe I’m looking at the prospect of a military coup with a grain of hope at this point, but here we are. What a time to be alive.
